Tainted Surroundings [open rp]

Adrian stood beside his bike, going over everything that had happened that night in his head. He was once again wearing his jacket, somewhat cold after the night. He stood there, staring at his notebook, headphones in his ears as he listened to his own voice drone on, in his recordings. He was constantly looking back and forth between his notes and a book open on the seat of his bike, seemingly comparing notes. He sighed mournfully, not very happy he'd found himself in the middle of nowhere, let alone attacked by a demon in the middle of the night. But that was something that puzzled him. Why was he still alive? That demon could have easilly killed him. Could have torn his face clean off, and worn it as a mask as it tore him to shreads. So how was he still alive? The thoughts in his head, along with the headphones, made him miss the calls of the new being from the world of the dead.

Adrian didn't notice the shouting as he listened to the recording. It clicked off as the spirit finally stopped making noise Taking his headphones out of his ears he sighed, letting them hang down around his shoulders. He frowned, noticing for the first time that the forest was strangely quiet. Always on edge, he glanced around slowly, his eyes darting left then right before he looked back down to the book, trying to make it seem as if he wasn't bothered by the silence, as unnerving as it was.

"Huh... Whatever the hell that thing was it's not in the books. And I just don't understand where the hell that damned sword went. I'm gonna have to go out and buy another one unless I can find one out here. Oh well. Now comes the hard part. Compiling the damned notes about these shrines. And kill Akiko for making me come out here. How the hell does she mark the maps on where the shrines are but not do research?" he ranted to himself lightly.

He put his things away before he sighed, running a hand through is hair. He shook his head lightly and sat down his back against the sports bike he'd brought with him. He winced, his hand reaching up to touch the tear in his t-shirt where the demon had wounded him. The wound was gone but it still hurt a lot.

He frowned, hearing something scurrying across the ground. He looked around in front of him, trying to spot what was there. Sighing with relief he leaned back a bit more, jumping up when the bike fell over away from him and toward the spirit. He jumped away from the other male, shrieking in terror. It took him a moment to realize he was shrieking and covered his mouth quickly, silencing himself as he stared wide eyed at the spirit. Gulping he smiled weakly as he stepped back.

"Sorry. You spooked me. Um.. Can I help you?" he asked, laughing nervously.

His eyes narrowed as the other man spoke. Did this man not know what a motorcycle was? No way someone as old as this man appeared, didn't know what it was. Was this a demon? A spirit? Was it the creature that had wounded him? He didn't know that this spirit was hostile or not. He let his fingers curl in lightly, his knuckles cracking as he stood there, his body tensing and relaxing. His eyes glanced past the spirit before him, not sure if Razu was deadly, but he'd find out soon enough. He stood there, mentally wishing he knew where his sword was. This was no human. And if it was he was clearly insane. The laughter alone was a dead give away.

Either this is a very insane man or a demonic spirit. I have to be careful if I intend to survive. Demon's don't fight fair so keep your eyes open. Never forget what you learned the hard way. They like to attack from your blind side, so be ready to fight. Time go go. Let's end this.

He lept forward, his hand drawing back his sword appearing in a swirl of black mist. He felt the weight in his hand, somewhat confused ad he brought his blade around, in a wide arched slash toward where the spirit's head was at that moment. He was a very skilled swordsman, but he wasn't yet perfected when it came to combat. He wouldn't allow himeslf to fall short of this kill.

"TIME TO DIE DEMON!" he shouted.

"Your words are wasted! They're as twisted as your soul! Sanity is a point of view! Those who are insane can still see themselves as sane! Everyone has their own sets of morals and those that fight against the flow of society are often criticized! By murdering they find themselves branded as insane! But nobody said that perserving life is one of that person's morals! I see what you're saying but I'm still going to kill you! Life is very precious to me, especially those of my friends! But you and your kind don't belong among the living! You're nothing but visitors from the past, shadows from the world of darkness! YOU AND YOUR KIND SHOULD GO BACK TO WEHRE YOU BELONG! BACK TO THE ABYSS OF OBLIVION!"

His counter arguement hadn't been much of one. He watched the spirit flying around as he twirled the Devil's Teardrop in his hand a smirk on his face. He was beginning to understand. He could feel the weight of the teardrop but it didn't feel like a weapon. It felt like it was part of his arm. It was part of him and could never truely be severed from him. Drawing the weapon back he shifted his grip before throwing the weapon at the spirit. the black mist of the blade almost seeming like the tail of a comet as it went.

He knew the difference between right and wrong. This spirit could just as easilly be just that a simple spirit, or it could be a demon in disguise. He could see dspirits, but there was no way for him to tell if spirits were good or evil, at least if they weren't so good or evil they just radiated it. And the demon from the night before had proven that even powerfully evil things could suppress their existance. He would have to be truely careful with this one.

Damn, whoever this guy is he's better than I expected. I was aiming for his heart!

Adrian stood there watching the spirit as it laughed insanely. He felt the sword in the back of his mind and willed it back to him. With a swirl of black mist it was back in his hand. Shifting his blade once more he drew it back, his left arm extended, two fingers pointing at the laughing spirit. He knew full well that if he wasn't careful he would end up missing again and was taking aim using his arm. He let it go, throwing it at the spirit once more just ast the spirit began to flee. He missed, clearly. His weapon couldn't move through the air, directed by will.

Sighing he reached out, the sword returning to him before he released the handle. It fell half an inch before vanishing once more. Adrian muttered to himself as he stood there, going over the incident in his mind, for a moment, reflecting on it. Something he had learned from a friend. After a fight while it's fresh in your mind go over it and see where you went wrong. And he knew. He hadn't been good enough to strike him down. He didn't fight like a demon. Had he been mistaken? Possibly, but he wasn't likely to accept that yet.

Turning he hefted the bike up before putting his things away, stuffing the books into the bag he brought with him. Slinging it over his shoulder he smiled, climbing onto his bike. Kicking the bike on he reved the engine lightly before he turned and left, the bike carrying him out at a pace he would not have moved at on foot. It had been a strange day and he couldn't wait to get it over with.
