As he hovered in the air Azrael looked down below him at the ground, his gaze slowly scanning over the area before his gaze came to rest on the remains of a burning village. As he looked down at the burning village a sigh escaped Azrael. He hated to see such sights, though it was unavoidable when demons were involved, the seemed to revel in chaos and feed of destruction. And for what they did to the humans, Azrael could not forgive them, the only thing he could do was destroy them and it is that task that brought him to the realm of the humans, to destroy demons. Azrael remained in the air gazing down at the burning village for a few more moments before he began to descend towards the village. As Azrael came to rest upon the ground he glanced around once more, it appeared the demon that caused this havoc was no where in sight and if it was it was laying low. After taking a moment to glance around Azrael began to move forwards, making his way down a street through the village. As he walked down the street, Azrael once again looked at the destruction the demon had caused, though this time he was much closer to it then he had been while in the air. After a moment longer of looking at the destruction Azrael turned his attention back to the task he had been charged with, the eradication of the demon and any other demons, that were responsible for the destruction of this village.

Azrael made his way through the village a bit longer before he finally took to the air once more. As he took to the air, Azrael sighed lightly as he began to look around once more, " Now, which way did this demon get off too.. I can not let it reek havoc any longer. " as he spoke Azrael ascended higher into the sky to get a better view of the area. Azrael took a moment and simply looked around but he was unable to find any signs of the demon in his general area. This meant that he would have to go searching in other places for the thing. When he came to this realization Azrael burst forwards and began to fly through the air. Luckily the demon had left behind a set of tracks giving Azrael a general direction of the beast. For the beasts lack of precaution Azrael was grateful, it at least gave him a small lead to fallow on his hunt for the beast. As he flew through the air Azrael glanced around in search of the beast he was after, " Come out come out wherever you are. " Azrael said in a playful voice. With the comment he couldn't prevent a light grin from taking form on his face, " And then when you do come out I can destroy you. " he added to his first comment, a soft chuckle following the final comment, his gaze continued to shift around at the forest below him as his search for the beast continued.

Not long after saying the comments Azrael caught sight of something not far ahead of him and decided to swoop in and see what it was. As he began to draw closer to what he had spotted Azrael noticed the unmistakable figure of a demon, it seemed the comment Azrael had said brought him some luck in his search. As Azrael drew closer he noticed the demon wasn't moving and had its back to the direction Azrael was coming from. When he seen this Azrael grinned a bit more, since the demon had its back to him that meant it didn't know he was coming and gave Azrael the chance to sneak attack the demon before it could react to his presence. Drawing nearer to the demon, Azrael held his right hand out to the side and as he moved towards the demon a scythe began to take form in his hand and as it took form fully Azrael lifted it into the air and spun it around above his head before he came down upon the demon with a quick slash of the scythe into the demon's back. The blade of his scythe slicing into the demons back and sending a torrent of blood into the air. After landing the sneak attack Azrael knew and expected the demon to counter attack so he quickly began to move backwards away from the demon. As he had hoped he was able to land the first attack and in some battles the first attack was able to dictate he victor of the battle and Azrael hoped it would indeed work for this battle as well.

The sneak attack having caught the demon by surprise caused the thing to lurch forwards and lift its head to the sky as it let out a cry of agony at the pain the angel's scythe had caused it. When the demon lurched forwards it released something it was holding and the corpse of a human female fell to the ground before the demon. When the corpse fell to the ground Azrael's attention shifted from the demon and to the dead female. When he seen the dead female he frowned faintly, it appeared the demon had taken another life this night, but if Azrael had anything to do with it, it would be the last he took ever. The demon, having recovered a bit from the attack, turned and looked at its attacker. Upon seeing that the one who attacked it was an angel the demon let out a anger filled roar, " Buraaahh. You damn angels! I'll kill you! " the demon yelled as it looked at the angle. Azrael couldn't help but smirk at the demon's comment. Before Azrael had time to say anything the demon charge straight for him and drew its fist back as it readied for an attack, " Die!! ". As the demon came in at him with an attack, Azrael brought his scythe up in front of him and used it as a means of blocking the attack from the demon. Though he had blocked the attack, there was still force behind it and Azrael was pushed back away from the demon from the force of the attack.

After he came to land on the ground, Azrael lifted the scythe into the air and pointed it at the demon who had stopped for a moment, " For your vial acts against the humans. I, Azrael, shall purge your being from existence. There will be no afterlife for you demon. " Azrael said as he looked upon the demon, his scythe and arm still extended out pointing at the demon. The demon looked at Azrael for a moment before he charged straight for the angel, " You don't have what it takes angel! " the demon yelled out as it went straight for Azrael. Azrael held his ground as he watched the demon come straight for him, a grin appearing on his face, " Stretch and join, bind these two together. " Azrael chanted, his gaze remaining fixed on the charging demon. Part of his shadow shot out straight for the demon. Before the demon could react Azrael's Shadow Bind made contact with his shadow and instantaneously paralyzed him in his tracks. " W-What the hell did you do? " The demon said as he tried to break the bind and move so he could attack Azrael. Azrael remained silent as he watched the demon, keeping the bind up. He knew if the demon had any magical abilities he would still be able to use them so he had to finish the demon off before he could use any said abilities. As he remained silent, Azrael thought on how to finish the demon off.

" Dark abyss, swallow the light and reap all. " Azrael said, citing another chant. Once he had cited the chant, a pool of shadows bubbled up next to the demon and out of the shadows came two shadow entities attached to the pool of shadow. " Farewell. " Azrael said before the two shadow entities began to attack the demon as he held it bound to its location. The demon was helpless to fight back thanks to the Shadow Bind it was locked in with Azrael, this meant his Shadow Familiars had free rain over the demon. As he watched his Shadow Familiars viciously attack the demon he couldn't help but sigh faintly. Though he was glad he dealt with the demon in a prompt manner, he was also a bit upset at how easily the demon was defeated, how was he to get strong if he kept fighting such weak enemies. When the last bits of life finally left the demons body the Shadow Familiars that had been attacking it faded into the darkness as the Shadow Bind was released. Now that the demon was finally defeated Azrael lowered his scythe and it began to disappear just as quickly as it had appeared before the fight, " Now that that is taken care of it is time to search for any more demons in this area. " Azrael said to himself with a faint nod before he began to ascend into the air. As he ascended into the air once more, Azrael began to look around again as he thought on which way to go.

Azrael took a few moments to look around before he began to fly off in another direction, his search shifting to the hunt for demons as he began to move. While flying through the air, Azrael kept a sharp eye out for any sign of demon presence, though he had been sent out to take care of the demon problem he wasn't sure how many he would encounter, though he hoped he would encounter more then just a single demon during the coarse of the night, more demons meant he would be able to gain more battle experience and become stronger. It didn't take long for Azrael to come across another demon. After spotting another target, Azrael began to swoop in closer to the demon. As he drew closer Azrael noticed that it wasn't a single demon, it was at least four demons in a small group. When he noticed this, Azrael felt a surge of excitement rush through him. Azrael slowed his descent and watched the demons for a moment as he took that moment to think on how to go about destroying the demons. Azrael lifted an arm, raising it and pointing it out to the side. After bringing his arm up, his scythe once again began to take form and when it had formed fully, Azrael gripped it before he began to once again descend towards the demons. As he flew straight down towards the demons, Azrael brought the scythe up and spun it around above his head.

As he came with in range, Azrael lashed out with his scythe and swung it through the air and cleaved the blade into the body of one of the demon. When he launched the attack, Azrael put more then enough strength behind it and the blade of his scythe sliced right through the demon's mid section, slicing the thing clean in half. After cleaving the demon in half, Azrael pulled back and came to land on the ground. The other three demons noticed that there comrade had been cleaved in half by an attack and quickly turned to face there aggressor. Azrael gazed upon the remaining three demons with a light grin on his face, the blood of the slain demon dripping from the blade of his scythe. When the three demons seen it was an angel that had slain there fellow demon they paused for a moment, at first not sure what to do but one of the demons launched forwards moving straight towards Azrael. As he charged for Azrael, he lifted a hand up and a ball of flame began to take form in his hand before the demon launched it at Azrael. When the demon launched the attack at Azrael, he jumped into the air, using his ability to fly to take him high enough to dodge the demon's attack. After the jump, Azrael did a back flip before landing on the ground a few feet away from the demon. The demon let out a growl before it charged Azrael once again.

Flashback

This time another of the demons decided to join his comrade and began to charge straight for Azrael. " Dark abyss, swallow the light and reap all. " Azrael chanted as he watched the approaching demons. After the chant a pool of shadow bubbled out of the ground not far from the first charging demon and out of the pool launched a creature made of shadow, the creature began to attack the first demon. Before Azrael could turn his attention back to the second charging demon a barrage of earth debris makes contact with him. When the earth begins to pelt Azrael he is forced to bring an arm up and use it as a shield to protect his face from the earth based attack. Once the barrage had ended Azrael was able to lower his arm and as he did so he was met with the sight of the second charging demon right upon him, coming at him with a sword made of earth. The second attack forced Azrael to step back and this time use the pole of his scythe to block the attack. Azrael let out a growl of annoyance as the demon pushed into his attack but Azrael pushed back and forced the demon to withdraw from his attack. When the demon pulled back, Azrael brought his scythe down in a quick attack, slashing the demon across the chest before he followed through with a second upwards slash across the demons chest finishing the demon off with his second attack.

As the demon fell, Azrael was met with the sight of the third and only demon who had yet to take any action, coming straight for him as the others had done. Azrael watched the demon for a moment before he launched into a charge straight at it. While charging at Azrael, the demon formed a blade made of ice and as soon as it got with in range of Azrael it began slashing at him with its blade of eyes. Azrael used the pole of his scythe to block the attacks the demon was launching at him as he began to step back now. " Dark abyss, swallow the light and reap all. " Dark abyss, swallow the light and reap all. " Azrael chanted as he backed up, blocking each of the demon's attacks. Though he had chanted, the demon continued to attack Azrael and didn't see the pool of shadow bubble up behind him. While the demon was attacking Azrael five shadow entities came out of the pool of shadows and instantly began attacking him. As the shadow entities began to attack the demon Azrael stepped back and watched as the demon was helpless to defend its self against the attacks from all five entities. Now that the demon had been defeated it's lifeless body fell to the ground as the shadow familiar Azrael had summoned disappeared. Azrael looked down at the defeated demon before him before he glanced at the other three he had defeated, " That's all? " He said with a sigh as he shook his head.

Now that Azrael had defeated this little group of demons it was time to move on and find any others, if there were any more around. Azrael stepped passed the defeated demon in front of him and began to walk along the path ahead of him as his search started once again. " Why cant they simply come to me? " Azrael said to himself as he continued moving ahead while glancing from side to side, " I guess some of them are rather weak.. and it would only seem normal that they hide from someone that is on the hunt for them. " As he finished speaking Azrael fell silent. Azrael continued walking for a bit more before he began to ascend into the air a few feet from the ground as he moved forwards his search continuing. It wasn't long before Azrael came upon what he was looking for, in a sense. Azrael came upon a village under attack by demons. When he seen the village being attacked, he paused for a moment and looked at it. He could hear the screams of the people and sounds of battle, both coming from the village. Not wanting to waste any more time, Azrael dashed forwards through the air straight towards the village under attack. As he came closer to the village Azrael began to glance around at the area to see how many demons were attacking the village. The sight of the village under attack by the demons enraged Azrael.

Before seeing how many demons there were, Azrael sparing into action. " Dark abyss, swallow the light and reap all! " he chanted, summoning forth a shadow familiar so it could begin attacking some of the demons. After summoning his shadow familiar he threw his arm out to the side and conjured up his scythe. After the summoning some of the demons took notice of the angel and began to launch there own attacks at the approaching angel, firing off various magical attacks at the angel in an attempt to stop him. As the attacks came at him, Azrael shifted from side to side, dodging the incoming attacks from the demons. Coming up to one of the demons, Azrael did a passing attack, lashing out with his scythe and slicing through the demon as he flew right by it. After killing the first, Azrael flew up and began to turn for a second attack. Some of the demons broke off and began to run as others took to the air and charge straight at Azrael. Azrael looked at the fast approaching demons and grinned. As the first demon came to Azrael, it unsheathed a sword and unleashed a quick slash at Azrael. Azrael used his scythe as a shield to block the attack from the demon. As Azrael became locked in combat with the first demon, two others who had flown up to meet the angel, began to unleash a barrage of magical attacks at the two combatants with out any regard to the demon battling the angel.

Azrael was to busy with the demon locked in melee combat with him to notice the magical attacks that had been launched at him. However, when one of the attacks struck the very demon he was fighting, Azrael quickly realized that he was also being attacked by the others from afar. The attack that had hit the demon Azrael was fighting was strong enough to end the things life. With the demon he had been fighting dead, Azrael turned his attention to the other two that were attacking him from afar. With his attention now on the two demons, Azrael rushed straight for them. As Azrael flew towards the two demons, one of them unleashed a torrent of flame at the approaching angel while the other conjured up a orb of energy and hurled it at the angle as well. Azrael swooped down under the torrent of flame and orb of energy before he quickly came up under the two and unleashed a barrage of slashes on one of the demons before he finished the demon off and followed through with a quick spin that ended in Azrael sinking the blade of his scythe into the body of the second demon before it had time to react to what was going on. After cleaving the blade of his scythe into the demon, Azrael jerked back with his weapon, yanking the blade out of the demons body. After freeing his weapon, Azrael glanced down as the body fell to the ground, it appeared the other demons had ran off..

Though he had defeated these demons, Azrael knew there were others in this village attacking and killing the humans, and he wasn't going to let that continue any further. With this in mind, Azrael begins to move deeper into the village in search of the rest of the demons that are attacking the village. His search for more demons to battle didn't last very long before Azrael came across another group of demons fighting with some humans. As he came upon another group of demons, Azrael stopped and glared as he looked down at the demons while they attacked the humans. Unable to watch any longer, Azrael charges straight into the fray of battle to deal with the demon menace. As Azrael enters the battle he wastes no time getting to work and begins to slay the demons that were fighting with the humans. It didn't take long for the demons to take notice of the angel that had entered the battle and once they noticed there attention shifted to the angel since it posed the greatest threat. Once the demons finally began to fight back against Azrael he was forced to slow his slaughter in order to take care of the demons that were fighting back for there lives. Though he now had to take time to deal with each of the demons, Azrael did not give up in his fight against the demon force he was fighting, his soul purpose for being in the humans world right now was to do exactly what he was doing right now, destroy the demons so they couldn't hurt anyone else.

Azrael became so caught up in the conflict that he ended up letting his guard down and that's when it happened, he didn't see the wave of dark energy coming straight at him. The wave washed over Azrael and the rest of the demons like a wave of water. The instant the wave of dark energy hit Azrael he could feel waves of pain rush through him and it made him cry out in pain. The wave not only took Azrael but it also took the demons that were around him and killed them. When the wave finally dissipated it left Azrael on the ground amidst the corpses of the demons it had also killed. After the attack had finished, Azrael opened his eyes and let out a groan of pain. " It seems you are tougher then I thought. " came a voice that made Azrael look towards the origins of the voice and his gaze came to rest on a demon hovering in the air. " No matter, I will finish you off with my next attack. " the demon said as it looked down at Azrael. With the demons second comment, Azrael knew he had to get up and fight back, if he didn't he would be killed by the demons next attack. With this in mind, Azrael attempted to get up but he fell back and let out another groan, the pain caused by the attack still lingered in his body. " D-Damn it... " Azrael said as he looked up at the demon.

" Now you die! " the demon yelled as it conjured up an orb of dark energy and threw it down at Azrael. Azrael felt a wave of panic begin to over take him and once again he tried to move, mustering all his energy Azrael forced his body to move and he took to the air, flying backwards, evading the attack. The orb of dark energy made contact with the ground were Azrael had been laying and produced a small explosion upon impact. When the demon seen its attack had missed its target it began to growl at the angel. Azrael was relieved that he was able to evade the attack from the demon, but he was still in a deal of pain from its first attack. " It appears you have some life left in you still. " the demon said as it began to give chase, going after Azrael. Azrael noticed the demon was coming after him and he conjured his scythe once again before he changed directions and went straight for the demon. The demon seen this and greened as it unsheathed a sword and continue going straight at Azrael. As soon as the two spirits got close enough they began to attack each other in melee combat. Though he had a scythe, Azrael was skilled with the weapon and knew how to use it effectively in close range combat. The demon continued its attack on Azrael, not letting up as it unleashed an onslaught of slashes with its sword, trying to take the angel down.

Though he was in pain, Azrael did his best to keep his guard up and block each of the attacks but he wasn't able to block all of them and some of the attacks the demon launched at Azrael got through is defense. The same could be said for the demon, like Azrael, it too was unable to block all of the attacks from Azrael and thus ended up taking hits from the angel. Finally the demon broke off its attack and dashed back, putting some distance between its self and the angel it was fighting. When the demon broke off, Azrael held his ground and held off for the moment on a charge, he had been injured more by the demon. Azrael began to doubt if he could finish this battle, this demon was a strong one, however he couldn't just give up and run, if he did that then this demon would continue killing humans and that was something Azrael wasn't going to let happen, so he had to give it his all and try to beat this demon. Since Azrael was holding his ground, the demon took that as a sign the angel was weakened and dashed forwards, charging Azrael again. Azrael seen the demon as it began to charge straight at him once again and he began to back up to put more distance between him and the charging demon, however it was useless since the demon continued to close the distance between them just as fast as Azrael could increase it.

When Azrael seen this he stopped moving back and dropped to the ground, grabbing his side as he looked to the demon. The demon followed suit and landed on the ground not far from Azrael, " Finished running? " the demon said as he looked at Azrael. With out giving Azrael a chance to answer the question the demon lifted from the ground and charged straight at Azrael once again. Azrael watched the demon get closer as he thought on what to do until he finally spoke, deciding what to do, " Dark abyss, range and rip to shreds. " he chanted. After the chant, Azrael's shadow expanded before dark shadows began to raise into the air and spin around, swirling around Azrael. The demon that had been charging Azrael was caught in the attack Azrael had unleashed and began to be assaulted by swirling shadows that sliced into it like razor blades. Azrael stood at the eye of the attack and watched the demon as it was assaulted by a barrage of shadow. With a bit of effort the demon was able to get out of the attack Azrael had unleashed but the attack had done a great deal of damage to it. Moments after the demon escaped the attack Azrael had unleashed, the attack began to end and the shadows began to disappear as Azrael's shadow returned to its normal size. As the attack fell, Azrael watched the demon, expecting the thing to come in for another attack.

The demon finally stopped and looked over at Azrael, glaring at him, " Damn you, I'll kill you! " the demon yelled as it looked at Azrael. Unfortunately, Azrael was already feeling the effects of the drawn out battle before he even began to fight this demon and now that the demon had inflicted more injuries to him he was feeling even more unable to deal with the threat but that didn't cause his resolve to waver, despite the fact that he was low on energy and in bad shape he still felt he needed to fight in order to defeat this demon. " It's time you die! " the demon yelled as it dashed straight for Azrael. The demon utilized speed it had not before and Azrael was unable to evade the incoming attack. As the attack came in, Azrael closed his eyes, expecting his end to come. Before the demon's blade could come down onto him, something happened. Another angel flew in and used a shield to block the blade of the demon before forcing the demon back, " Azrael! " the angel yelled as it looked at the demon. Azrael's eyes snapped open when he heard the voice, he looked up at one of his fellow angles standing in front of him. " Stand back Azrael. I'll finish this monster off. " the angel said as he glanced over his shoulder back at Azrael. " A-Alex.... " Azrael said as he gazed up at his comrade. " Don't worry about me. Mariana, take care of Azrael's injuries. " Alex said before charging into battle.

Azrael's attention shifted to the young female angel that landed next to him and knelt down before she began speaking to him. " What have you gotten your self into Azrael? " she said as she looked down at Azrael smiling. " .. What are you guys doing here? " Azrael asked as he looked up Mariana. She sighed as she moved her hands over Azrael's chest and focused a moment before a light mist moves over Azrael and begins to heal him. Once the healing had begun she began to speak, " You were taking to long so we were sent to find you, and if needed, aid you in your task. " Azrael sighed, " I see.. ". Alex finally came back and looked down at Azrael and Mariana, " And we got here just in time, if we were a moment late then you would have not been alive any longer. Now, lets get back to Koutaku-Shi. " With that said, Alex helped Azrael up and the three left for there realm.

A Friendly Spar

Flashback

Azrael sighed lightly as he gazed off into the distance, he had decided to take a moment and simply relax as he laid down. However, Azrael's moment of peace didn't last before long before it was interrupted when someone jumped onto him from behind, yelling out " Surprise!! " in a female voice. Azrael was taken by surprise as Mariana, a friend of his, jumped onto him, catching him off guard. Azrael began to struggle to get up. As he began to get up Mariana jumped off him and turned to face him as she giggled, " Day dreaming again? " Azrael sat up and looked over at Mariana as he brought a pawn up and rubbed his head, " No.. I was just relaxing. Until you jumped on me, you almost crushed me. " When Azrael said the comment about him almost being crushed, Mariana growled at him lightly, " No I didn't I don't weigh that much, your just a big baby. ". Before Azrael could respond to the comment, a third party broke into the conversation, " Alright you two, no fighting. " said a white fox. Azrael knew him as Alex, a friend and comrade. " Alex! " Mariana exclaimed as she playfully jumped at Alex. Azrael turned his attention to his friend and nodded, " Hey Alex. ". Alex quickly took to the air before Mariana could land on him. As he was in the air he looked to Azrael, " Hello Azrael. " Mariana landed with a thud and sighed as she sat up, " That wasn't fair... " she said as she looked up at Alex.

Alex chuckled lightly as he looked down at Mariana " You have to be faster then that if you want to catch me. " He said before he landed close to Azrael. Azrael glanced at Mariana before he looked back to Alex. Mariana sighed as she walked over to the two, " Ill catch you one day Alex. " Alex glanced at her and nodded, " When rocks fly. " He said jokingly. Azrael couldn't help but chuckle at the comment. Mariana looked at Azrael when she heard him chuckling, " What are you laughing at? I know you cant beat Alex. ". Azrael looked at her for a moment before he looked to Alex, " Sure I can. " Azrael said as he grinned. Alex laughed at the comment, " As I said to Mariana, when rocks fly. You aren't on my level yet Azrael, but you will be one day. ", Mariana giggled as she looked at Azrael, " See you cant. " she said before sticking her tongue out at him. Azrael growled lightly at Mariana before he jumped forwards, pouncing on her. Mariana screamed lightly as she fell to the ground under the weight of Azrael. " I can do beat Alex, I'll show you. " Azrael said as he looked down at Mariana. " That's enough Azrael. Get off of Mariana. " Alex said as he watched the two. Azrael looked at Alex, " Only if you will spar with me. ". Alex shook his head as he signed, " Alright Azrael, we can spar. And if I win, you have to be nice to Mariana, deal? ". Azrael looked down at Mariana for a moment before he moved off of her, " Alright. "

Alex nodded, " Alright. Now, do you want to do it like this or in our human forms? " Azrael looked at him, thinking on it for a moment before he spoke, " Human form. " Alex nodded, " Alright. " And with the agreement the two changed into there human forms. After changing into his human form, Azrael glanced over at Mariana before he looked to Alex, " Shall we begin then? ". Alex looked at him and nodded, " Alright. When ever you are ready. " He said while watching Azrael. Azrael held his ground for a moment as he watched Alex, thinking about what he should start with. " To slow! " Alex commented as he quickly dashed forwards, using his ability to fly to lift him from the ground and propel him forwards. As Alex flew straight at Azrael he held his hand out and conjured up his sword. Azrael was caught off guard by Alex's charge and was forced to step back as Alex came in. As he stepped back, Azrael conjured up his own weapon and used it to block Alex's first attack.

Azrael growled lightly as he was forced to back up from Alex's attacks. " Dark abyss, range and rip to shreds! " Azrael yelled out, chanting for a magical spell. Azrael's shadow expanded out and shadows rose into the air and began to swirl around Azrael. Alex was caught in the middle of Azrael's magic attack and began to get assaulted by the shadows as they swirled around. Since his spell had caused Alex to stop attacking him, Azrael lowered his weapon and looked at Alex, grinning lightly. Alex was forced to retreat in order to get out of the range of the spell. As he made it out of the spell he landed on the ground and groaned lightly in pain as he looked over at Azrael, " I didn't know we were going to use magic. ". Since Alex was no longer in the range of the spell, the swirling shadows fell back to the ground and Azrael's shadow returned to its normal size. " Oh, I'm sorry. I thought we were. " Azrael said as he watched Alex. Alex nodded, " Very well, if that is how you want to play. " he said before he conjured up a set of armor and a shield, " Now, shall we continue? " Azrael knew Alex had the armor and weapon and he also knew Alex was stronger then him in magic and battle skill. Despite knowing this, Azrael nodded, " Yes. Lets continue, unless you want to stop here. "

" As you wish Azrael. " Alex said as he looked over at Azrael, grinning faintly. The two held there ground for a moment, each staring at the other, simply standing and watching the other to see what they would do. Then, Azrael dashed forwards, launching into an attack. Azrael drew back his scythe as he charge straight for Alex. When he got with in range he swung his scythe and unleashed a powerful attack. Alex braced himself for the attack and brought up his shield, using it to block the attack from Azrael. After blocking the attack, Alex thrust his shield back into Azrael's scythe, causing him to stumble back as he lost his footing. Once he had knocked Azrael back, Alex stepped forwards and launched into an attack, unleashing a barrage of slashes and thrusts at Azrael. Azrael was hit by the first few attacks before he managed to get his scythe up and use it to block some of the hits from Alex. As Alex's attack came to a finish he unleashed one final attack, slashing up with his sword. As he brought his attack up, he twisted his sword so the flat part of the blade would strike Azrael. Azrael was unable to block the final attack from Alex and was struck in the chin by the attack. The force of the attack knocked Azrael into the air and sent him flying back before he came crashing back to the ground. " Azrael! " Mariana yelled before she quickly ran over to his side and knelt to check his injuries.

Before she could check his injuries, Azrael pushed her away before he climbed back to his feet, " I'm fine Mariana. " Azrael said as he looked at Alex. Mariana looked over at Alex after she was pushed away. Alex looked at Mariana and nodded. Mariana sighed and stepped back away from Azrael. Azrael glanced to Mariana before he turned his attention back to Alex. " Stretch and join, bind these two together! " Azrael chanted and with it a part of his shadow shot out and ran across the ground until it made contact with Alex's shadow. Alex frowned as he became bound to the spot now that Azrael had used his shadow bind, " Do you think this will hold me forever? I know you won't be able to keep it up very long. " Alex said as he looked over at Azrael. Azrael growled lightly, " I can hold it as long as I want. ". Alex shook his head faintly, " You need to learn to use more then just your magic Azrael. You don't need them to win a battle, you can use your weapon as well. let me show you! " as he finished speaking, Alex broke the bind and charged straight for Azrael once again. Azrael wasn't expecting his bind to be broken by Alex, so when it happened, he wasn't sure to do at first.

Alex charged forwards and as he came to Azrael he launched into another set of attacks. Azrael snapped out of it just in time to block the first attack with his scythe before he jumped, " Dark abyss, range and rip to shreds. " he chanted again and again his shadow stretched out and shadows began to swirl around. This time however, Alex was ready for it and he brought his shield up and used it to block the attack along with his armor. When Azrael seen that his attack was being blocked, he charged straight for Alex and jumped around behind him before he brought his scythe down, slashing across the back of Alex's armor. Alex held his ground and took the attack from Azrael while defending against the magic attack. Azrael jumped back as the spell he had cast faded away. As the spell faded, Alex dropped his guard and looked to Azrael, " Not feeling tired are you? ". Though he was feeling the drain on his energy, Azrael shook his head, " I'm fine. Are you ready to give up? " Alex chuckled lightly, " I'm not done yet Azrael. " he said as he watched his friend, taking a moment to think of what to do next.

Alex dashed forwards straight for Azrael, catching him off guard. As he came with in range of Azrael, he unleashed a barrage of slashes once again. Like before, Azrael was unable to block the first few slashes but he managed to bring bring his weapon up and attempted to block some of the attack. Alex continued unleashing a barrage of slashes upon the defending Azrael. Like before, the attack culminated in one final attack from Alex. He brought his sword up and turned it so the flat side of the blade would strike Azrael like before. Azrael was once again hit by the flat part of Alex's blade and sent flying back before he landed on the ground. Mariana once again rushed to Azrael's side and knelt next to him, " Azrael? ". Azrael began to push her away and try to get back up. " The match is over. You shouldn't have enough energy to continue on so I have won. " Alex said as he walked up to Azrael, " Let Mariana treat your injuries. " Azrael looked up at Alex and sighed, " I can go on. ". Mariana pushed Azrael onto his back, " No you cant, now stop being a child and let me take care of your injuries. " Alex laughed lightly at her words, " You heard her, and don't forget the deal. " Azrael sighed, giving into the orders and remained on the ground so Mariana could take care of his injuries. " Good. I'm glad to see you know when to stop. " Alex said as he watched Azrael. Mariana conjured up a healing mist to take care of Azrael's injuries. Once his injuries were healed, Azrael stood back up and stretched some, " ... Thanks Mariana. ". " No problem. " she said with a smile, " Just don't go acting like a dummy any more. " both Mariana and Alex laughed at her comment, " Well Azrael. It has been a good match but I must be off. " Alex said, offering Azrael a friendly hand shake. Azrael accepted the offer and nodded, " Alright.. " when the shake ended, Alex turned and began to walk off. " I gotta go to. Time to learn new spells. " Mariana said with a smile before she bounced off, leaving Azrael alone.

While floating in the air, I look up at the sky, watching the clouds as they slowly fly by over head, blocking out the blue sky as they pass through my line of sight. As I gazed up at the sky I slowly lifted an arm and reached out towards one of the clouds that floated over head, " One day, I will get you Mr Cloud. " I said as a light smile appeared on my lips. I knew I could never actually catch a cloud, though it was fun to think of the idea. Sure, I could fly up there and try to get it, but they were not solid so I would be unable to actually catch one. Slowly I pulled my hand back and allowed it to fall back to my chest as I continued to watch the clouds as I floated in the air above the ground. After a few more moments of watching the clouds as they flew above me I began to close my eyes as I let out a light sigh. Moving my hand from my chest, I slip it behind my head, locking fingers with the hand I already had behind my head. I began to let my self descend towards the ground and I began to float down slowly until I finally came to rest on the ground. After landing softly on the ground I open my eyes once again and gaze up at the sky before I glance around for a moment.

After glancing around I look back up at the sky for a moment before I close my eyes once again as I let out a relaxing sigh. As Azrael gazes up at the sky Mariana approaches him and comes to stand over him, remaining silent for a moment before she speaks up, " Sleeping again Azrael? ". As soon as I heard Mariana's voice I opened my eyes again and looked up at her, glaring lightly at her, " No, and your blocking the sun.. ". With the comment from Azrael, Mariana chuckled lightly, " Is that so? I didn't think you were a person who liked to lay around in the sun. Lazy. " with the final comment she giggled as she stuck her tongue out at Azrael. I sigh lightly at the comment from Mariana, shaking my head faintly, the glare fading from my face as I look up at her still, " .. I'm not lazy. I'm just relaxing. Did you need something? " I ask while looking up at her. Mariana watches Azrael for a moment longer before she shrugs and begins to sit down next to him, " Just wanted to relax as well? " she said as she sat next to him. I look over at Mariana for a moment now that she has sat down beside me. " So you decided to sit next to me? " I ask as I turn my gaze away from her and look back up at the sky.

" Yeah. I decided to sit next to you, do you have a problem with that Azrael? " Mariana asked as she looked down at Azrael. I looked back at Mariana after she had asked the question and shrugged my shoulders, " It doesn't matter to me really. " with that, I turned my gaze back to the sky, falling silent. " Good. " Mariana said, watching Azrael for a moment before she finally turned her gaze towards the sky as well, falling silent as Azrael had done. There was a moment of silence between the two as they both simply looked up at the sky. " Hey Mariana have you ever thought of catching a cloud? " I asked as I glanced to Mariana, finally breaking my silence. Mariana looked at Azrael with a confused look when he asked the question, " What? You can't catch a cloud, they aren't solid. You should know that Azrael, we fly through them all the time you dummy. " I looked at Mariana as she answered my question. As she finished her answer, I nodded and turned my attention back to the sky, she was right.. " Yeah... " I said as I looked up at the sky while letting out a light sigh, " It was just an idea. You know? " I glanced to Mariana again as she looked at me. Mariana kept her gaze fixed on Azrael and shrugged faintly at what he said, " I guess.. It sounds like a funny idea to me. " I nodded and turned my attention back to the sky.

Mariana leaned over Azrael and looked down at him with a light smile, " Hey, Azrael. " My nice view of the sky was obstructed when Mariana leaned over me. Looking up at her, I frowned lightly, " Yeah? " As she looked down Azrael, Mariana brought a hand up and lightly placed it on Azrael's cheek before she begins to lean down closer Azreal. I kept my gaze fixed on Mariana as she began to lean down closer to me, unsure what she was doing. Mariana stopped an inch or so away from Azrael's face and gazed down into his eyes as she smiled, " Your it. " she said before she began to quickly pull away, flicking Azrael's nose before she took to the air. I wasn't exactly sure what Mariana meant when she said that I was it and I remained on my back as I looked up at her as she began to fly away, until I finally caught onto what she meant. When I did catch onto what she actually meant I rose from the ground and began to go after her, " I'll get you Mariana. " Mariana looked back at me and giggled lightly, " No you wont Azrael, your to slow, it took you forever to figure out what I meant. Did you think I was going to kiss you? Hehe. " I was a little flustered by Mariana's comment, " No! .. I'm not slow. I just wanted to give you a head start. Gotta be nice to girls and all that stuff, remember? " I said as I continued to go after Mariana.

Mariana looked back at Azrael as she continued moving through the air, " Oh, Is that so? Well, if you don't win, you have to give me a kiss. " Mariana finished with a light giggle before turning her attention back to where she was flying. " What?! " I said as I looked ahead to Mariana. I wasn't expecting her to say something like that so it caught me off guard and shocked me some. " You heard me. If I win, you have to give me a kiss. Or are you two afraid to? Well, Azrael? " she said, glancing back to Azrael for a moment before looking away. I kept my gaze fixed on her as I continued to fly after her, " I'm not afraid and I'm not going to let you beat me either. " I said with a nod. Though a kiss had been brought up and that made things a bit awkward to me, chasing after Mariana was still fun and, if you think about it, it was also some exercise. Whenever I chase after her, I put as much as I can into it to try and catch her. But I guess to Mariana it was just some fun, two friends playing, and to me it was kind of like that, well more then kind of. " Come on Azrael, your slowing down. " Mariana said as she looked back at Azrael, taunting him to keep up. I glare lightly at Mariana as she taunts me, " No I'm not. I'm just being a gentlemen and giving you a lead. " I said, though I knew I needed to push harder so I could catch her.

As she moved through the air, Mariana began to descend and made her way into a forest. When Mariana began to descend I followed after her and as she entered the forest I followed her into the forest and began to glance around, " Great... Now she is gonna friggin hide in the trees. " I mumbled to myself as I landed on the ground while glancing around, " This is cheating Mariana! " I yelled out, trying to get a responce so I could find her easier. At first Azrael was met with silence but finally Mariana spoke up, " Is that so? How come I knew you would say that about this? It's not like you play fair anyways. " the voice faded off into a light giggle before silence fell once again. When I heard Mariana speak up I turned my attention towards where her voice was coming from and began to quickly fly towards her voice, however when she fell silent I came to a stop and glanced around, " No I don't cheat. " I said with a nod, " Now. Why don't you come out? " As I finished speaking, I glanced around more in search of Mariana. At first, Mariana remained silent as she hid up high in a tree, but she could still see down to Azrael as he searched for her. " Why should I come out of my hiding place? " Mariana said before she began to move from the place she had been hiding, shifting to another so Azrael couldn't find her.

As she moved out of the tree, Mariana moved to another one and waited to see what Azrael would do. When I heard her speak I was able to better pin point where she was hiding and I quickly took to the air as I flew straight for the tree where I heard her, " Got you! " I said as I came closer to the tree and began to inspect it for Mariana, but I didn't find her in it. When I didn't find her in the tree I grumbled lightly as I moved away from the tree, remaining in the air, " Now, where could you be hiding.. " I said as I glanced around. " What's the matter Azrael, are you having trouble finding me? " Mariana said as she watched Azrael from the safety of a tree. When I heard her speaking again, I turned to face were I heard her voice and took off for another tree. As Azrael drew closer to the tree she was in, Mariana giggled and burst out of the tree, flying away from Azrael, " Still to slow! Hehe. ". When I caught sight of Mariana I instantly began to go after her and frowned at her comment, " I'll get you. ". Mariana laughed at Azrael's comment and continued to fly away from him. As she flew she made sure to slow down just enough so that Azrael would be only a few feet behind her, just out of arms reach but not to far behind so he would lose track of her.

Mariana continued to fly ahead of Azrael, keeping just out of reach, for a few moments longer before she pushed ahead, putting more distance between the two. Finally, after putting some distance between her self and Azrael, Mariana landed and waited for Azrael to land. I continued to follow after Mariana, trying to catch her but she was always just barley out of my reach. Her being just out of my reach made me angry, each time I tried to catch her I couldn't and then she finally pulled ahead of me so I had no chance to catch her for the moment. When she finally landed, I landed a few feet away from her and panted lightly as I looked over at her. " Something the matter Azrael? " Mariana asked as she looked over at Azrael. I shook my head at her question and took a step towards her as I thought on what to do to catch her. As Azrael stepped forwards, Mariana took a step back, keeping the same amount of distance between them, " Oh? Are you giving up? ". Again, I shook my head, but this time I spoke up, " Dark abyss, swallow the light and slither. " I chanted. With the chant, a part of my shadow stretched out across the ground and made contact with Mariana's shadow before she could get away. Mariana had seen the attack coming but was unable to evade it and when it made contact with her shadow she was bound to Azrael. As she looked over at Azrael she frowned, " You cheated. "

I shook my head faintly at her comment, " No it isn't. You didn't say anything about not using match to catch the person being chased. If you said no magic, then I wouldn't have used any magic. " I said as I looked over at her with a light smile. " Fine. Next time there wont be any use of magic. Got it Azrael? " Mariana said as she looked over at Azrael. I nodded to Mariana's comment, " Ok. I'll drop the bind. ". After speaking, I allowed the bind that held Mariana in place to break and the part of my shadow that joined us came back to my shadow, rejoining it. Once she was free, Mariana moved around a bit, nodding to Azrael, " Glad to see you like to play fair, now shall we continue? ". At first, I remained silent as I looked over at Mariana but finally I spoke up, " Dark abyss, passage through the void. " I chanted, once again, however this wasn't for an offensive spell I had cast. Instead, I hoped that I had cast something else as I focused on chanting locations. Azrael began to sink into his shadow until he disappeared completely from sight. After Azrael had disappeared, Mariana stood there for a moment before she began to move towards where Azrael had once been, " Azrael?... " She called out as she came to a stop where Azrael had once been standing. After she came to as top she began to look around as she called out for him again, " Azrael, where did you go? " Fear began to take hold of Mariana now that she was alone in the woods. After my disappearing act, I climbed out of the shadow of a tree and hid behind it as I watched Mariana.

I didn't expect the spell to work but it did and I was glad that it did, for now I can scare Mariana, hehe. " Azrael? " Mariana called out again as she stood where Azrael had once been. I heard her call out for me again and I decided to make myself known to her, " Over here. " I said, giving my position away to Mariana. When she hard Azrael's voice, Mariana turned and instantly began to move towards where his voice came from. I grinned faintly and pulled behind the tree fully before speaking again, " Dark abyss, passage through the void. " I chanted again. After the chant, Azrael began to sink into his shadow and once again disappeared. Mariana came to the spot where she thought Azrael would be but he wasn't there. Again she glanced around in search of Azrael, " This isn't funny Azrael... Please come out. " She said with panic in her voice. Again, after my disappearing act, I climbed out of the shadows not to far away from where I had just been and took refuge behind a tree as I looked towards Mariana. Now that I had disappeared twice with my new spell, I began to think about going over to Mariana and ending my little bit of fun since it seemed like it was freaking her out a lot. Mariana circles the tree where she thought Azrael was before she moves away from it, calling out once again " Azrael! ". Since Mariana was getting really freaked out I decided I would stop my little prank so we could continue with our game and Mariana would feel better. Though I had decided to come out of the shadows and show myself to Mariana, I remained behind the tree I was using for cover a moment longer as I watched her, waiting for the right moment.

When I finally decided to make myself know, I chanted once again, " Dark abyss, passage through the void. ". Once again Azrael sank into his shadow and then he began to climb out of the shadows behind Mariana. I stood up fully once I was out of the shadow and lightly tapped Mariana on the back, " Boo. " I couldn't help it, hehe. Mariana jumped into the air and screamed as she pulled away from Azrael and turned to face him, clutching her chest. I couldn't help but laugh as I watched her reaction, " Hahahahah, s-sorry about that. I couldn't help it. ". Mariana held her chest as she worked on calming down and when she was finally calmed down her gaze shifted into a glare as she looked at Azrael, " That wasn't funny. I was really scared and didn't know where you went. You shouldn't have done that, that was really mean. " Mariana said as she looked down at Azrael. I looked up at her and sighed lightly as I nodded, " Ok. I'm sorry.. I wanted to try out a new spell. I didn't mean for you to get scared. " I let a light smile form on my lips as I looked up at Mariana. Mariana kept her gaze fixed on Azrael and as he apologized the glare she was giving him began to fade away, " Alright. But I still don't forgive you for what you did. You jerk. " she said as she flew in close to Azrael and shoved him some. I stood watching Mariana until she came in and shoved me, when she did I stumbled back some and when I came to a stop I sighed lightly, " Forgive me? ". Mariana nodded as she looked down at Azrael, " Mhm. You have to earn that, and I might not tell you how to. " Mariana said as she hovered in mid air looking down at Azrael. I sigh again as I look up at her, " ... And how can I do that? " I was afraid of the outcome now that I had asked, but I wanted to make Mariana feel better and not be mad at me. " You have to... say I win our game, and give me a kiss. " Mariana said with a nod as she smiled while looking at Azrael still. I knew something like that was going to happen... I remained silent for a moment as I thought over what she had said. I knew there was really no other way so I had no choice but to give in to her demands. " Alright. " I said with a nod, " You win... " I added, waiting on her to land. " Good, hehe, " She said with a smile as she landed in front of me, " Now for the next part. ". After she had landed, I stepped closer to her and paused for a moment before I leaned into place a kiss on her cheek. Mariana wasn't going to allow Azrael to kiss her on the cheek so as he leaned in she shifted so there lips made contact instead of Azrael kissing her cheek. Moments after our lips made contact, I quickly pull back and grumble lightly, " There... " I said as I looked at her, " Now lets head back? " Mariana nodded, " Alright. " After that, the two lifted into the air and began to fly back to there home.
