The Wakening (Closed)

A loud crash of thunder pierced the night sky. The loud sound of thunder roused the wolf yokai from his dreamless slumber and he began to open his eyes slowly. As the yokai opened its eyes it glanced off into the distance at the tree line before glancing around the area in front of it. While glancing around, the yokai had no idea where it was or how it had come to rest in this forest. As it thought on this, it realized it couldn't remember anything at the moment, it was simply a blank in his mind. The lack of memory quickly lead into a panic, a panic that caused the yokai to raise from the ground. The yokai rose from his place on the ground, raising onto all fours and began to look around once again, still trying to figure out were he was and who he was. Once the yokai had stood up, his legs began to shake and ended up giving out on him. When his legs gave out on him, the yokai fell back onto the ground and let out a light yelp from the pain of hitting the ground. After falling back to the ground, the yokai remained on the ground, whimpering lightly as the rain fell from the sky like tears from above as if the sky is weeping. Now that the yokai had fallen back to the ground, it remained there once again. He glanced around for a moment before closing his eyes once again.

The yokai remained on the ground with his eyes closed for a few more moments before another loud crash of thunder echoed through the sky. The sound of thunder caused the yokai's eyes to snap open as he jerked back, the sound cause a wave of fright to rush through him. As the fright moved through the yokai and began to consume him he began to whimper lightly as he once again attempted to raise from the ground. This time, the yokai's legs held out as it climbed back onto all fours, though they still retained there slight wobbliness, they held the yokai up off the ground. Now, back on his feet, the yokai began to glance around, he still had no idea were he was or were he should go. While the yokai glanced around and tried to figure out what to do, there was another crash of thunder and a bolt of lighting followed, the bolt of lighting striking a tree not far from were the yokai stood. When the bolt of lighting struck the tree close to him, the yokai jumped once again and before he had time to think of what to do his body started moving and he began to run. The yokai didn't know where he was running too all he knew was that he was afraid for his life and this was all that came to mind to do in order to remain safe. So it was the only thing he could do, run and hope that it would lead him to safety, some where.

As the storm ranged above him, the yokai continued to run in search of somewhere safe so he would be protected from the storm. While running, the yokai continued to glance around and paid little attention to were he was running. The lack of attention paid to where the yokai was running caused him to run into one of the forest creatures. The instant the two made contact, the force of the running yokai caused the two to begin tumbling across the ground and as they came to a stop, the forest creature the yokai had ran into instantly launched into an attack on the yokai that had ran into it. The yokai that had ran into the forest creature was caught off guard as the creature launched into an attack on it. The forest creature clawed at the yokai's face and bit at its neck as it let out a growl of anger. The yokai managed to push the forest creature away after the first few hits and jumped forwards at the forest creature. The yokai jumped onto the forest creature and instantly began biting and clawing at the creature. As it attacked, the yokai's thoughts shifted from a blurry panic to rage and the intent to kill as it went at the forest creature with all its might. Though the yokai had started to fight back, the forest creature didn't stop its own offense and continued to attack the yokai, going at it again, swiping at its face and biting for the yokai's neck.

As the forest creature began to attack once again, the yokai did what it could to defend against the incoming attacks or counter them so it wouldn't get injured any more. As he fought, the yokai put all his might into the battle between him and the forest creature. For him, it was a live or die situation and he wasn't going to let the forest creature defeat him. The yokai forced the forest creature onto its back and lashed out at the forest creature, sinking its fangs into the throat of the forest creature. The yokai bit down with all the might it could muster. As it sank its teeth into the neck of the forest spirit it could taste the blood as it began to flow into his mouth from the wounds on the forest spirits neck. Though it was something new to the yokai, or at least he thought it was, the taste seemed vaguely familiar to him. When the forest spirit finally stopped fighting back the yokai released its neck and pulled back to look down at the lifeless forest spirit. As the adrenalin of battle began to leave him a wave of pain washed over him. When the wave of pain began to wash over him he let out a howl of pain as his limbs began to tremble and were on the verge of giving up on him. Before any such thing could happen a bolt of lighting struck the ground not to far away from the yokai again. The resulting bolt of lighting and thunder sent the yokai into another panicked charge.

Once again, the yokai found himself in another panicked charge as he rushed through the woods with out looking which way he was going nor paying much attention to where he was going and the things around him. The yokai didn't realize where he was running until it was to late. Coming to the beginnings of a slope, the yokai slipped and began to tumble down a embankment. The yokai tumbled down the embankment, hitting some debris on the way down, until it finally came to a stop at the bottom of the embankment. After he came to a stop, the yokai la on the ground, whimpering in pain. Though he wanted to lay there the yokai mustered up enough strength to climb to his feet and begin moving again. Once he was moving he began to walk across the ground with a limp, whimpering with each step he took as pain surged through him. The yokai only managed to get a few feet away from where he had fallen before his energy finally gives out and he collapses onto the ground, panting as he gazes off into the darkness. As he gazed into the darkness he realized he could only see out of a single eye and even that was clouded with red from the blood. Spotting some movement, the yokai attempted to climb to his feet but due to his injuries and fatigue he was unable to get up. Since he was unable to get up, the yokai closed his eyes and whimpered softly for a few moments before he began to pass out.

The figure the yokai had spotted before passing out came up to the fallen creature and looked down at it before kneeling down and picking the yokai up from the ground. After picking the yokai up, the figure began to walk off with the yokai. Once the figure had picked the yokai up it began to walk away from where the yokai had collapsed. The figure took the yokai back to a fire light cave and set it on the ground. After setting the yokai down the figure sat down next to the yokai and watched it for a while before dozing off. With the raise of a new day, the figure woke up and left the cave. While the figure was gone, the yokai began to stir from its slumber. As the yokai stirred it opened his eyes. As he opened his eyes, the yokai found he couldn't see out of his left eye and there was a large gap in his vision. When he realized this he began to panic. Just as he began to panic the figure that had brought him into the cave was coming back into the cave. When the sound of movement reached the yokai's ears he began to panic more and through sheer will alone he forced himself from the ground and quickly turned to face the figure. Before getting a look at the figure the yokai lunged forwards, jumping onto the figure and taking it to the ground. The figure was taken by surprise by the yokai and when it was jumped it let out a gasp as it fell to the ground with the yokai on top of it.

As the figure went down the hood that had been drawn over its head to shadow its face began to fall to reveal the face of a female. When her hood fell to reveal her face, the yokai finally seen that it was a female that he had jumped, but that didn't stop him from growling at her and lunging forward going straight for her throat. As the yokai went for her throat, the female brought an arm up to block the yokai. Though she brought her arm up in defense, the yokai didn't stop and sank his teeth into the flesh of her arm. When the yokai sank its teeth into her arm she let out a cry of pain but didn't try to stop the yokai from biting her arm, instead she brought her free hand up and reached out to the yokai and lightly ran her fingers through the fur on its head, " ... Its ok. I'm not going to hurt you. " she said as she watched the yokai. The yokai could taste the blood of the female as it began to ooze into his mouth from the open wounds on her arm. He kept her arm locked in his jaw as he watched her, he could understand what she was saying, but he was still in a panic and didn't trust anyone. When he felt her hand touch him he flinched a bit before he began to growl louder while biting down harder onto her arm.

The female let out a groan of pain as the yokai bit down harder but she still didn't take action to stop the yokai, instead she slowly ran her hand through his fur, " It's ok boy. ". The yokai continued growling at the female while biting down on her arm for a few moments longer before he realized he couldn't keep her like this. He came to realize this just as the energy he had left quickly faded from him, forcing him to release his grip on her arm and lurch back as he began to fall over with a soft whimper. As the yokai began to fall, the female reached out and took a hold of him before he fell off of her and pulled him close to her, " Shhh. It's ok. I'll take care of your injuries. ". She remained on her back for a moment before she began to get up. As she stood she held the yokai close and walked over to where she had set him the night before and set him down. After setting the yokai down, the female started a fire before setting a satchel she had been wearing onto the ground. After setting her bag down, she opens it up and takes out some water and cloth. She takes the water and wets the cloth before she begins to clean the blood from the yokai. After she was finished cleaning his injuries, she took some bandages from her bag and began to bandage up the yokai's injuries. After all his injuries were bandaged up, she put her stuff back into her bag and sat next to the yokai, petting his head as she waited for him to wake up.

The yokai was out for a few hours before it finally began to rouse from slumber once again. As he began to wake up, the yokai opened his eyes and one again found he couldn't see anything on the left side, aside from darkness. Again the yokai began to panic and started to raise from the ground to his feet. When she seen this, the female reached over and placed a hand onto the yokai's head, " You shouldn't get up, your injuries are healing. ". When he felt the hand come to rest on his head, the yokai froze for a moment but when he heard the voice, he jerked his head out from under the females hand as he jumped back and looked up at her as he began to growl lightly. He remembered her from earlier, but he still didn't know who she was or what she wanted. When the yokai jumped away and began to growl at her, she sighed lightly as she looked at the yokai, " Not this again. I'm not going to hurt you, here. " she reached into her pack and pulled out some dried meat and held it out to the yokai, " Something to eat. ". The yokai continued growling a few seconds longer before it stopped as it took a step closer and sniffed the bit of meat the woman is offering him. The yokai sniffed the bit of meat a bit longer before it opened its mouth and bite down on the piece of meat, yanking it from the females hand as he took a step back and began to eat the meat.

When the piece of meat was taken from her hand, she nodded " Good boy. " she said as she retrieved another piece from her bag and began to eat it as she watched the yokai. " My name is Ezra, what's your name? " She asked as she gazed down at the yokai. When the question was asked, the yokai lifted his gaze to the woman and looked at her for a moment as he remained silent. " I guess you can't talk huh? " She said with a light sigh, shaking her head faintly. The yokai still remained silent for a few more moments before he finally spoke up in a light tone, " I-I can... talk... I don't have a name though... " the yokai said before he turned his attention to the remaining bit of dried meat he had been given. " I see. " She said, nodding her head, " Well, at least you can talk, though you need a name. " As she finished speaking she moved closer to the yokai. When he seen her coming closer, the yokai began to growl once again and jumped forwards onto the female, taking her to the ground again. When the yokai jumped on her, she made no effort to stop him as she fell to the ground under him again. After being taken to the ground, she smiled lightly as she looked up at the yokai, " Calm down, I'm not going to hurt you. " The yokai stood atop her and looked down at her growling lightly still as he watched her.

She brought her hand up and reached out, placing her hand on the left side of the yokai's face. When he felt her hand come to rest on the left side of his face, the side he couldn't see out of, he whimpered lightly and pushed her hand away with his head before his lips drew back as he bore his teeth at her while growling. When her hand was pushed away, she frowned faintly and brought her hand to rest on the left side of the yokai's face once again, " Shhh. It's ok... How about we call you Novak, do you like that name? ". When the yokai felt the female's hand come to rest upon the side of his face again, he went to push it away but stopped as she began to speak and when she gave him a name, he tilted his head tot he side while looking down at her, " No...vak.... " he said as he stopped growling. She nodded as she brought her other hand up and began to rub one of his ears lightly, " Yes, and we can call you Nova for short, do you like it? ". When he felt her hand touch his ear, he flinched a but but as she began to rub his ear a strange feeling began to wash over him and he began to let out a pleased sound as he lowered his head some while closing his eyes, " Mhmmmmmm. " was the only thing he could say in response to her question as she rubbed his ear.

" Good, its settled then, from now on, you will be known as Novak. " she said with a smile as she leaned up and placed a kiss on the yokai's snout. When he felt the kiss on his snout, the yokai's eye snapped open and he turned his attention to the female that had placed the kiss on his snout. At first, the yokai simply stares at the female as he tries to figure out what exactly she had done when she kissed him. Finally the yokai lifted it's head and let it's tongue come out from its mouth and ran his tongue across the female's cheek. When the yokai licked her cheek, she smiled a bit more, " Are you still hungry Nova? If you are, I have some more dried meat you can have. ". Though she had asked him a question, the yokai didn't respond at first, instead he ran his tongue across the side of her face once again. The yokai continued to lick her cheek and worked his way down to her neck. As Nova continued, licking her neck, Ezra began to moan lightly as she ran a hand through Nova's fur. Ezra let Nova continue licking her neck a bit longer before she tried to push him away, " Ok Nova.. That's enough. ". At first, Nova resisted but finally he pulled his head back and growled at Ezra some as he looked down at her. Ezra smiled up at Nova, " You should eat more so you can get all your energy back. " She said as she ran her hand through his fur one more time before she pulled her and away and got another piece of dried meat and offered it to him.

Nova bite down on the piece of dried meat that Ezra offered him and moved off of her. After moving off of her, he made his way over to the fire and laid back down as he began to eat the dried meat he had been given. After Nova had moved off of her, Ezra got back up and moved over to where Nova had lain down and sat next to him before she reached out and began to pet him. As he eat the dried meat, Nova gazed into the flames for a little while before he finally closed his eyes while letting out a light sigh. Ezra looked down at Nova for a moment as she ran her hand through his fur, " If you are still tired you can rest. " Ezra said as she moved her hand up to one of Nova's ears and began to rub it lightly. Nova began to make a happy sound again as Ezra started to rub his ear once again. Nova finished off the rest of the dried meat Ezra had given him before speaking up, " Alright.. " Nova said before he fell silent once again. Ezra nodded and continued rubbing Nova's ear a bit longer before she stopped and with drew her hand, moving it through his fur. Ezra rested her hand on Nova's side as she looked down at him and remained sitting for a few more moments before she began to shift and laid down next to him. It wasn't long before Nova drifted off into a light sleep along with Ezra.

As dawn broke on a new day, Nova opened his eye and gazed over at the dead fire, his sight first blurry. As his vision began to clear up he lifted his head from the ground and glanced around for a moment before he began to stand. As he stood Nova looked down to the female demon that was still asleep on the ground. Nova stood over her for a moment, his gaze shifting around her body before he turned his gaze away from her and began to move. Nova made his way to the mouth of the cave and came to a stop. As he came to a stop, Nova glanced a round before he sat down and gazed off into the forest. As he gazed off into the forest he opened his mouth and let out a yawn before licking his mouth, " Where am I.... " Nova said as he looked out into the forest. " You are in Solvay my dear. " Ezra said as she made her way out to where Nova sat. Nova lifted his head and looked to Ezra when he heard her voice, " Solvay.. ". Ezra nodded, " Yes. In Onitoshi. The realm of the demons. ". Nova looked at Ezra a moment longer before he turned his attention back to the forest, " Onitoshi... I see. ". Ezra nodded, " Let me check your injuries, ok? ". Nova glanced up at Ezra and nodded faintly before he looked away once more.

After Nova nodded, Ezra moved down in front of him and began to check his injuries. When Ezra came to the eye that had been bandaged, Nova pulled his head away before she could, " No. ". Ezra paused for a moment, looking at Nova, before she nodded, " Alright. ". Ezra finished checking the rest of Nova's injuries before sitting back and looking at him, " Everything looks to be healed up completely, aside from your eye that is, since you wont let me look at it.. ". Nova nodded as he looked at Ezra, " Alright. Everything is fine. " Nova said as he rose from the ground. After standing, Nova turned and walked back into the cave. Ezra watched Nova and remained seated for a moment before she stood and followed after Nova. As he moved into the cave, Nova glanced around some. Ezra made her way into the cave and looked over at Nova, " What is it Nova? ". Nova looks to Ezra for a moment, " I'm hungry. " he said as he turned his gaze away from her. Ezra nodded as she looked at Nova, " Alright. I have some dried meat left if you want that. " Ezra moved over to where she left her pack and picked it up before reaching into it and pulling out some dried meat, " Here. " she said as she offered it to Nova. Nova took the food that was being offered to him and began to chew it up. While chewing the died meat up Nova began to make his way back to the entrance of the cave. Nova made his way to the entrance of the cave and glanced around for a moment before lowering himself to the ground so he could lay down and relax for the time being.
