PostSubject: Reflection   Reflection EmptyMon Aug 30, 2010 12:15 am

Warm, soft sand. That was the feeling between my toes as I touched down on the western shore. My eyes gazed off into the setting sun, watching the glowing orb of orange light slowly begin its departure into the far lands. Releasing the grip on my sandals, I lifted out of them for a moment before sitting down beside next to them. My white pants moved slightly as a soft breeze snaked its way across the tall grass before grazing its way along the sand. Bending in half, I leaned backwards, pulling my arms behind my head. Off in the distance I could hear a woman yelling at what i would assume were her children. My head would tilt to the side, while my mind wondered off to times long past.

Enter Dreams...
Lightly golden fields of undying flowers that glowed in the moonlight... I could remember all of it, from a time nearly four hundred years ago. The time I had spent in my own home was short compared to my time down here. Before I knew it, I was watching the army of our heavens return, and vowing to be a part of it. Two weeks later, I had declared something else, and two weeks after that, something else. The joys of being a naive child, and having no cares in the world. Through my first few years, I would learn of a man who could control a strange property of our existence. Across our land were beings who had reached a level of coexistence with elemental properties. This one being, a man of great power, had been commander of the naval fleet on the outskirts. I could remember the first time I saw him, when they docked in our quadrant. He was a stern man, whose presence seemed to dwarf the others, even though he was only of mid height. I had stumbled out across the dock on accident before tripping and falling. Before I could hit the ground, a hand grabbed the back of my vest, holding me above the wooden platform. With a quick jerk, I was back on my feet. The man had moved nearly forty feet in a blink... why he even bothered with me, was beyond my comprehension at this time...

Return...
I opened my eyes, slowly at first to watch the sun hit the horizon. The orange and purple colors mixed across the sky relaxing my mind and spirit. Without worry, here I could watch the sun set in peace..

PostSubject: Re: Reflection   Reflection EmptyMon Aug 30, 2010 12:00 pm

It was beautiful, peaceful, full of a calm, warming feeling. Tomorrow, I would join another spirit on his quest for conquest to conquer and unite this entire island. I had managed to talk him out of annihilating them, and instead move them to the mainland. From here, I could watch and support them while they created their own civilization free of this islands restraints, and the tyrannical warlord that lived here. While the humans feared and respected him, I had neither feeling. He was just another spirit, and when it came down to it I would probably be able to to fry him. That lady was still off in the distance screaming about something, but I had blocked it from my attention for now. Whatever the issue was, twas not my issue... Digging my toes into the sand once again, I stretched my legs out and laid there. I wasn't one to get dirty, but the warm, soft sand was rather inviting. That same light breeze would cross my body, flipping open part of my jacket and putting it beside my body. My eyes would close again, sending me back through the deep recesses of my mind to that time long ago...

Enter Dreams...
The flash of light was all I saw before my body hit the stone wall. It didnt budge under the force, but I could feel every bit of pain. Before I knew it, I was on my knees, hands on the ground, and out of breath. Slowly, my head raised to the sight of my master.
"Enlightenment of Thunder and Lightning is a single inheritance. . . each master of the spiritual elements passes on their line to one student, who will one day become the new master. For you to fully understand the responsibility of this power, you must be held accountable before it."
That accountability was a full understanding of the pain it was able to inflict on others. The clothes across my center body had been burned away, and every muscle in my body twitched with the electrical surge he had given me. Pulling myself together, I pressed up, standing to my feet with several deep breaths. My master's face held a level of satisfaction in seeing that. Normally, he was very carefree, and didn't really take anything seriously. On top of that, he never seemed to run out of energy, and that scared the ever living jeebeez out of me. I guess there was a reason he was the commander of the heavenly navy...

Return...
A drip of something strange hit my forehead, causing me to open my eyes. The sky was dark, and the sun gone. Off to the left, my peripheral could make out the sight of a large, round globe, the moon. A breath hit me, causing me to look up, at a large, tiger looking beast standing over me. Closing its mouth, it began to growl... well now..
My own body took a breath in while the creature took a step back. Focusing those principle's of EOTL across my lungs, they would glow and spark, causing my vocal cords to vibrate furiously. Without much warning, the large tiger leapt forward, heading straight into a pounce on my body. My lips, slowly at first, parted before opening enough for something to happen. My jaw would quickly drop, spreading the cavity to a size for the technique to be released. The sound would boom between us, as I roared at the creature. Its body movements halted before it stumbled to the side and fell over. The creature, now disoriented, was unable to even stand, let alone complete an attack on me. I continued to lay there, not even moving to acknowledge the beast finally getting up and leaving. What a pain in my ass that would have been had he not sniffed my first to see if I was alive. Oh well...

What a beautiful moon... I thought about what else was out there while I wiped the creatures drool from my forehead. Thanks for giving me an excuse to go back to that bath house...

PostSubject: Re: Reflection   Reflection EmptyWed Sep 01, 2010 6:19 pm

Ah.. that bath house. The girl there was young and gentle, and part of me was drawn towards her. She strangely resembled my other half, my beauty from the heavens. She was still waiting for me up there. my mind was curious to how the time barrier was now that we had broken the base levels of physics and created our own private past. Had we created a completely indefinite future for these people where we could rewrite all of history in our own way? I pondered this, wondering why this had even happened to begin with. The watchers, in their infinite idiocy, had failed in their duties by letting such a thing happen. Now, were there technically two sets of watchers, or did that time distortion only effect the physical realm down here? Slowly, my eyes would close while I gave another deep exhale. In the same manner, my eyes would open, while my pupils slowly drifted to a far off cloud. The singularity was the only blemish on what would have been a perfect skyline. there were no city lights to brighten them out. I had never tried to go out there, knowing that it would be nearly impossible. Then again, it had never occurred to me to try.

Maybe the humans had some type of technology that would let them reach the stars. I knew that only through using their technology would I be able to accomplish what I needed in my time. A facility not only for the protection of spirits, but to focus on creating an artificial form of energy. That was my purpose right now, and my goal had been placed in front of me for a reason. There was only so much a single entity could learn in one lifetime, but if we could expand that to several life times, then there may have been a way to surpass current limits. Even I, who happened to be much stronger in terms of energy capacity than the humans, had found a limit that I could not break. It would take their science, and nothing less. I exhaled again, not taking my eyes off of that single cloud until it was far across the horizon. What a meaningless existence it had.. to float forever alone..

PostSubject: Re: Reflection   Reflection EmptySat Sep 04, 2010 5:44 pm

Forever.. time had become, one again, a part of my existence that was insubstantial. it was all relative when you had an existence that could not really be extinguished. My own master, in all of his greatness, had ended his when he grew bored with all possible realities that he faced. I wondered what he would have thought of me now, had he been alive to see my progress. I sighed lightly, allowing my body to slowly lift itself from the sand. Like a specter of the dusk, my body floated up to a standing position. My knees would remain slightly bent, while I myself let my head hang down towards the sand. There were grooves in it, along with small prints of critters, probably sea based, who came aground during the night hours. Another sigh would part my lips, while yet again wondered how my own angel was doing. It had been nearly twenty years since I had seen her, and now that I was down here, in rest, I had decided it was finally time to return. Once all of my work down here was complete, all of it would be left to my successor. The heavens would be opened to me, and my brother, would fall before me. The thought of him brought my lips together, while my fingers slowly wrapped into a fist. The mere presence of him in my thought process readied me for battle, and got my blood pumping faster. The stars were beautiful, as usual.

With the open view laid before me, there were miles that I could see with no issue. I could really get used to this time again. Faintly, I could remember it from the first time I had lived during this time. We were ordered to stay out of this realm, and to not interfere with the humans and their progress towards the future. I had done just that, and rarely ever came down unless it was under order to slay a demon. Those demons were the initial reason my brother fell from grace, and I was slain from the heavens. Now, there were six powerful demons who wanted to burn the future to the ground, and I assumed build a new society of chaos and anarchy. That, I would not allow. In a few days, we would venture forth into the underworld, my first time there, and hunt these beasts down. I had little tolerance for anything that would interrupt the natural process of the human world. To be honest with myself, I had grown quite fond of the human world, and being a part of them let me understand them more. They were quick to overreact, and while their intentions were validated, were usually outside of my understanding. They were still young, and lacked the wisdom that those who could live far beyond the age of a simple human, could understand. Off in the distance, a beautiful moon finally landed in my sight. It was round, full, and bright enough to light the beach. My head raised to it, letting its light come across my body. What a beautiful night, full of vivid peace and without conflict.

PostSubject: Re: Reflection   Reflection EmptyTue Sep 07, 2010 5:54 pm

As was normal with my dealings, any thoughts of peace would almost always cause something else. For me, the enjoyment of a night almost definitely meant that I would be stuck in conflict with myself, while wondering about the home I had been cast from. My mind quickly came to the thoughts of my crew. Upon being granted the title of Lightning Tiger, I had been promoted to admiral of our ship. Inside our detachment was seven other ships, and we all sailed together. Very rarely would I send one of them off to do their own mission without support from the rest. I sighed, while the sounds of a large growl came from the wooded area. Turning my head lightly, several male humans, clothed in leafy looking garb, charged out of the tree line towards me. I was not about to just stand there... so that was what I did. When the first came within striking distance, a spear would be thrust. Using a quick half step, I would seemingly float around it, planting my palm on the side of his arm. A spark would erupt from the touch, sizzling his inner muscle structure. While seizing, his body would tighten and fall over. I had little patience for anyone who would dare disturb my peace on such a beautiful night. The moon, now at its highest, would grant me perfect vision across the sandy beach. Continuing the rotation, my right elbow would come up, planting itself lightly into the back of the young mans head to finish the fall down. Now that the others had halted, I stood over top of their assumed leader, waiting for them to make their move.

The others stopped for a moment, giving each other glances before continuing their pursuit. I was hopeful that they would cease their hostilities, but my assumption had been, of course, a folly. A light sigh would come from my lips while I watched the four other warriors scramble across the sand towards me. Lifting off the ground, my body would fly forward, nearly fifteen feet, drawing a knee up to the chin of the first of them. The impact gave me the acute sense of a sharp crack, confirming the damage that had been done to the human. My leg would then extend, planting itself in his mid section and giving me ground to twist. The free leg would swing out, while my colorful robes floated to the side. Seeming to float in the air, the back two halted their forward motion to watch the spectacle. As the body of the human hit the ground, a cry came from his lips at the same point of my body landing. Wanting to make this at least somewhat of a personal challenge for myself, I decided to stay on the ground. Three left here, two in the back, and one paralyzed behind me. Smiling at the simple thought of a challenge as a work out, I could solidify reasoning for actually wasting the time here. I was not really into the whole martial arts thing, but had instead completed a style of combat known to many as brawling. To many, it would look like simple flails, but to me it was a quick and calculating method of keeping all enemies at a certain distance. With a quick jerk, my right arm would raise to the others..
“Come get some..”

With a battle cry that rung through my ears, a rare sight would take place. Slowly, a smile would etch its way across my face. This was not a fight for survival, it was a simple workout to test myself. I had taken my normal ways and thrown them out the window for this one time. Under normal circumstances, I would paralyze them all and leave them here. Tonight was not nearly the case. Come to think of it, my master would be severely displeased with me had he witnessed what I was doing. My thought momentarily came to my master, giving the humans a second of spare peace to react towards me. I looked thoughtless for a moment, before my body instinctively reacted. Darting up, my left arm would catch the wooden shaft of a long spear before it could come down across my body. Sliding forward, my weight would shift quickly, before a single punch came forward. The punch, a special skill used by spirits, would result in the feeling of bone cracking under the force. I had used this technique to break solid holes through concrete in my time, and rock in this one. The body of the human was lifted from the ground before flying backwards towards the tree line, the imprint of my fist engraved in his chest. Extending my fingers, I moved them a few times to remove that feeling of breaking bone. What a freaky feeling that was.
“aright you primates.. who’s next.”

Great.. I insulted them and they lacked the intelligence to even understand the insult. I would have to come up with new ones that these ancient wastes of human mass would be able to understand. A deep breath would escape my lips as my eyes saw birds of various types flying from the trees where I had sent that human flying. There was a hint of satisfaction in my breath while I rotated sideways. My left palm would dig into the sand, where my body stopped moving. The entire thing would look like an illusion of gravity. My right arm, now coming backwards, would speed up, while the rotation completed. My right foot would land on a spear end, while my left landed on the flat side of a wooden shield. My limbs would bend in slightly before a burst of energy expanded out from my body. Sand would be pressed, and the exerted force would knock all of them away from me, sending them mostly falling to their rears in the sand. Thanks to the shiftiness of the ground, it was easy to break them off of their stance with little effort. As for me, I would flip backwards, landing in a twist on the ground. I guess I had kind of cheated, and still floated there for a moment. Oh well. With a light sigh, I would wait for them to return to their feet before attacking them. Once they had regained their footing, I would take care of all of them in two shorts, and all at once.

I stood there, crossing my legs before sitting down. One leg would remain planted firmly in the sand, while I took a seated position. Crossing my arms, I would wait for all of them to get up before continuing. I was not even sure if they understood my language. The ones over in the wattu village could, but these things seemed much more savage than anything I had come across here. Maybe this had to do with how close I was to that old abandoned city. It was still too early for me to tell, but something was definitely up with those damn ruins. Shaking it off, my right arm would extend up, before striking towards the ground in one swift, soft motion. As if falling, my lips would part, while gentle words rolled from between them...
“hall of the thunder king, strike those who defy”
Escorted by the sound of thunder, the area around them would be struck with a barrage of lightning bolts, before one large, singular bolt erupted. The bright flash of yellow light lit the area, and could have been seen for miles in this clear night. I waited for the smoke to clear, to see if there was anything left. Smoked bodies on knees, slowly raising, what a nice sight. The humans of this time seemed to be a lot stronger than the ones in the future realm. I would have to take note of that when I returned, and check our history archives to make sure they were accurate.

It was rather amazing that they would still be able to crawl to their feet. While leaning on weapons, I wondered if they would make a retreat, or continue this useless massacre. It was not like me to be like this, and I figured it was a rare occurrence that everyone needed. Stress Relief, I believe they called it. Shaking my head, a familiar sight would come across the sands, swirling. "valley of kings, light of the night, spark and burst.." The tiny balls, sparks of energy that were swirling with blue and yellow light, would hum in unison as they began to form. The area, now as clear as day, would start to crackle with the energy from this ability. It was my signature attack, and one that I used rather often. The balls of energy would surround the opposition, bathing them in bright light. My body remained still, continuing to sit there before flying directly away from them. The temperature around me would drop slightly as I came across the surface of the water. Once I was about forty yards off shore, the balls of light would swirl and concentrate their masses on the remaining warriors. The explosion would be preceded by a bright flash of light, then a wave of crackling energy. The wind from the attack crossed my body, sending my hair flying back. It was usually the same way, no matter when, or where I used this ability. As the dust settled, I could finally take a look at the product that had been left there.

The sand had been pushed outwards, while water rushed into the new indentation that covered part of the land. The trees across the front row had been bent in half, splintered and broken before flying off somewhere else. In all, the destruction had ravished the landscape much my enjoyment. As an angel, I had the power to reshape the landscape if I so chose to. That amount of power, and my new mastery of my own bloodline, would give me an indispensible amount of power when it came to my lightning. There were still a few things I would want to do, and these all concluded with me expanding my lightning abilities. I had a few ideas, and some of them were really, really nasty, but other than that I wanted to make my abilities more clean. Looking back over to the amount of destruction given to that wide area, I decided that I wanted things that dealt less damage to a wide area, and more to a focused. This might be a compressed wave of solid electricity, or something of that sorts. The problem would be focusing the energy and containing it. Shrugging with a sigh, I flew back over, only to land in the same place I had originally flown from. There were no bodies remaining, and the stench of death had receded before I landed. The moon, now at its apex, would slowly begin its descent towards the mainland. It wouldn’t be long before I would have to leave for the primary compound, and the “yaksa”.
