Diaries of a mad spirit Empty
PostSubject: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 1:35 pm

A yawn would escape my lips. Raising slightly, I would open up the cabin on the ship, bringing myself to view the overlook that was our tiny settlement. The forest had been cleared more and more, leaving s space for the frameworks of several homes. Something that was bothering me, however, was what we were doing. I wanted to make sure that we also kept a taste of the area in our design of the village. I remembered history class at the academy when I was there with Lauren. Humans had several issues with the land, and most of the time they failed to realize it. There was an inherently sacred relationship exists between living creatures and nature. From time immemorial, people of indigenous or land-based cultures have celebrated their connectedness with nature as an integral part of their daily lives. Free and enduring access to their natural habitats of air, water, and land assured their sustenance and survival. These shared natural environments are referred to as “the commons.” In the days before mercantilism and industrialization, before private property rights were instituted, local people held the land in common and knew how to harvest, manage, and sustain the natural resources of forests, fields, and fishing grounds. If I were ever to leave this place, I would make sure that they would understand this, and the sharing that came along with the responsibility for their land. What we took from the land we would give back elsewhere, even if I had to irrigate myself.

Diaries of a mad spirit Empty
PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 1:35 pm

Thinking back to the human world in the future, I started to think about what land was like. There was a strong lineage of robber barons, from feudal landlords to multinational corporations, which began to enclose the commons by force in order to profit from the land. Asserting their right to private property, these ruling cliques wrested control of the commons from the majority of the world’s indigenous and village populations, disregarding controls on the use of natural resources by which the peasant common holders had protected and perpetuated their subsistence economy. This was a crime, and I would not allow it to happen here. Each part of the council would work for the greater good of their people, and never lose that goal. The goal of ever-increasing profit justified the plundering of natural resources and the ruthless exploitation of labor sources. This type of advancement in management styles would have to be tweaked by creating a base level of isolationism. I didn’t want Industrialization, with its focus on the production of cash crops for markets, displaced self-sufficient local economies, which were organized around communal management of the commons. Peasants uprooted from their land became members of a disposable labor force, which would be of no use to me. By imposing a base level of social structure, you would effectively be creating the elitism that came along with a tier-down system. A sigh would come, while I watched the sun come up across the water. Go time.

Diaries of a mad spirit Empty
PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 1:35 pm

One day, I would have a large estate or manor on the water, so that I could watch the sun rise across the water every morning. I wondered if there was a way to bring the farms into the community as we built it. Community gardening not only produces healthy food close to home but also cultivates community among neighbors. There were an exponential amount of possibilities when it came to this aspect of the civilization I was founding. If we expanded the housing to a certain point, we could integrate the farms into smaller sections inside the actual village. Using the slaves and miners, I could turn that northern river into an irrigation system, giving us easy water across the town. Community gardening is a way for people who lack yards to grow flowers, fruits and vegetables, but more than that it is also a way for people to work together, socialize, and talk with their neighbors. Users plan, construct, and manage the space, thus building community relations at the same time as they save the village money for development and can help lower their own cost of living. I had an idea, of lowering taxes for everyone who did and supported this. It would also give them a sense of ownership for their land. This would be something never seen before in this time frame. I was fully confident that these things would foster a sense of community involvement, and also give us more loyalty from our people.

PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 1:35 pm

Conventional wisdom says that wealth is having a job. Let’s bring in city merchants, and traders from all of the other big cities, and they will give the people jobs. That’s not real wealth. Real wealth means you have some assets. It means you build on something that the community owns or that the individuals in the community own. There’s no more valuable asset than land. Farmers know that; we know that. The land is the ultimate source of wealth. So through hard work and faith in my ideals, we could create an entire product for the other people of the world, and export that product to increase the productivity of our own people. Looking across the water, I figured that it would also be within my interest to manage the flow of traffic to the other spirits island. I could set up a series of boats, and successfully control the way people were able to move in the water here. If I charged for the trip, I could create an economic boosters from these travel taxes. Any way to increase the functionality of my people would be a definitely good idea. There was a light breeze across the water, allowing a smile to cross my face. It was going to be the beginning of a beautiful, highly productive day. I had ideas to take care of, and these ideas would be what would allow me to keep working forward through each day here. The first thing on my mind, getting one of these houses nearly finished.

PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 1:44 pm

To get these processes going forward, we would have to look at a way of getting the civil body to progress. Civic alchemy is about process, and that requires many things. The reason so many people are afraid of the process is because it’s messy. But there’s no way around the messiness, unless you are a supreme dictator like my counterparts. To be honest with myself, a community process is muddled. It’s time consuming, it’s aggravating, it’s frustrating. If done right, though, it’s also beautiful, and it works. We’re always teetering on the cusp between success and failure, order and chaos, and that is the honest truth, whether we are here or in the future realm. In a process like this, because there is so little precedent for what we’re doing, we are always teetering on the brink. Our success depends upon the faith we have in the process. There are times when the muddles get so bad that we’ve gotten stuck on a point for three or four days or even weeks. I had all of these issues when I was building my academy, and that would have to come into play here as well. Patience, and exercising that patience would be my most difficult problem. The inclination for most folks would be to say, That’s it. Or to let a leader or somebody else come in, make a decision, and get it done. But if you allow the process to go through, what you will understand is that the breakthroughs often come as a result of breakdown.

When the process breaks down, we have to say, We can’t do it within this framework; we have to jack our thinking up to another level. This will lead to a breakthrough in the process of building this community, and create a mecca of social thinking and community thought. What kind of solution could I come up with right now? One is urban agriculture. We’re going to have a community-supported farm. We already have one and a half acres in production for a primary farming system. We have a farmers’ market right on way of our to do list, and that is in our town commons. It was part of one of the new vacant lots where the forest used to be, and held a series of lots that have been cleared and developed as a public space. I wanted to keep another area to be used for the children. In the future we had play grounds and education. One of the first things I would do is make education mandatory. This would require me to travel to the other cities and recruit teachers and smart people to come and educate my people. This increase in brain capacity would lead to politics, military, and religious expansion. I was still fifty fifty on the whole religious leader thing, so if anyone mentioned it to me I would look into it. Other than that, not here or now.

PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 4:59 pm

Mercy is the mark of a great man. That was among the last of words I heard from my master, the previous lightning tiger. He would have been unhappy with me wasting time with building a civilization when I could have been working towards creating my own form of military. Speaking of that, it was time for me to get that going as well. The sun was now in a full round ball on the horizon, and the tents were beginning to open across the clearing. There was a solid pile of rock also being formed, that I wanted to use for the base of a dock. That would wait though. More pressing matters would require the foundation of a military presence. Hopping up to the side of the deck wall, I would lift off before flying a few moments to the shore. It was about ten seconds further to the large clearing. I would lightly plant down as voices began to sound. The villagers would begin their daily work. Today, they would focus predominantly on the primary house, which would be the future economic center. I figured that since we would need a way to organize and manage our finances, along with the resources we held. This base level of management would give us an edge in quickly expanding our trials, and working on getting more and more people here. For the morning however, I would give the call to arms, and summon those who fought in the old village.

Those who had fought were quickly brought forward. Only a handful of them remained, and were willing to keep defense here. The rest had stayed on the island. That was a good, and bad thing for me here and how. The idea that I could handle all of it at once was still within sight, but I would have to start small and work my way up. With only fifteen people here, I divided them into five groups of three. Each group would have one primo, while the other two gave support. Through the morning, they would be given their weapons, and sent out into the wild to secure a solid perimeter. Their work here would allow an easier transition for me when it came time to expand the grounds. It also held another purpose for later. Within a few weeks, I may have a decently sized outpost here, and that would require a militia to act in defense of the homes here. If I was able to gather enough carpenters, and keep the wood trade up, I may be able to also keep a steady schedule of housing increases. The rocky land to the north would not only provide us protection, but it would give us the supplies to create a physical barrier to protect the lands here. Speaking of the north, I may be able to create an outpost there as a secondary or emergency location. There were many thoughts that could go with this idea now. `

PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 5:00 pm

On second thought, it would be best to stay and focus on the here and now. With the five squads out of sight, I trusted that all of them would return with some kind of valuable information. Whether or not that would happen, I had no idea. I was rather just happy that the village was beginning to take shape. The second priority would be the command outpost. I would sleep there, along with the council once we had it completed. It would not be my home, as that estate would be coming later. However, it would be easier for me to manage the area, and actually take a bath once this place was up and running. That reminded me, I had to go back to Khroda’s village and get that young bath girl. I had taken a certain liking to her, and figured I would try to get her out of there and bring her to the mainland, where she could become my personal assistant. In return for her service, I would give her an education, or a home, or whatever she wanted in return for her valuable service. She had taken care of me before, and I was particularly fond of her company as well. A hand would reach up to my chin, running the scruffy hair that had formed while I thought about it. Maybe I could just fly in, grab her, and fly out without him noticing my presence. Was there a way to mask that presence? Hmm...

Diaries of a mad spirit Empty
PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyWed Sep 15, 2010 5:21 pm

I would sigh lightly while taking a seat at the table. Another series of tables had been set up, and many people came to do a group breakfast. Everyone ate at the same time, took breaks at the same time, and went to sleep at the same time. While it would look to many on the outside as a type of slave labor concentration camp, it was rather successful and efficient from the ground up. Bottom line, I was rather happy with the progress they were making. Jokes would cross the table, and day three kept me happy with that progress. My attention would turn to a more serious expression when one of the divisions returned far earlier than I had expected. Three others would emerge within minutes of that. “Lightning Yaksa, the slavers are on their way back, and they have armed guards. One of the other divisions heard them talking about how you cheated them out of slave prices”. My hand raised to silence him. That slave trader had set the prices for the slaves, and as of right now, they were not slaves. The slaves who had been freed look at me, waiting for my idea of what to do. With a smile, I figured out the best way to start a skirmish. I knew the land, and so did they. At this point, they wouldn’t expect a small settlement like this to have a decently functional militia already set up and working. How fun this will be.

PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyThu Sep 16, 2010 4:30 pm

I would get up from the table and turn to the open area, taking a knee on the dirt behind me. Calling everyone over, they would wonder exactly what I was doing. Slowly, my finger would come across the dirt, drawing a circular pattern with several objects to symbolize the buildings we had in the workings. Two other series would come out, showing the outlying paths that would shortly be dirt roads. They were not all the way paved yet, but they would be within a week. Smiling lightly at the opportunity for a training exercise, and my first one at that, I had the second division captain show me exactly where this group was. Once I had a good idea of that, along with the progress forward they were making, I instantly had a plan in mind. “Alright, here is what we are going to do. I will land in front of them, while you guys use the tree cover to surround them.” A voice perked up, commenting that we were far outnumbered. I would already be expecting this comment, and know how to take care of it with little effort. “I want all of you to cover your ears when you get into position. I will hold them for ten counts. You will cover your ears for fifteen, then attack all at once. There was a hint of hesitation in their voices while they discussed this plan. I would come over their discussion, and assure them to trust me.

PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyThu Sep 16, 2010 4:30 pm

I had no, and absolutely no worry in taking care of this little issue. I may even be able to free a few more slaves this way. Once the other two divisions had returned, we would begin preparations for starting this little venture. It would require a little bit of close range combat, but for the most part, I wanted a light series of projectiles first. The other asset we may be able to gain from this would come in the form of horses. I had no horses here, and would really enjoy having an easier way to make and upkeep the farms that would be coming. There were many possibilities for community development that would be much easier upon gaining something that could decrease workloads from my people. The more I thought about increasing productivity, the more I would smile. About fifteen minutes later, the other divisions would return. A short bit later, they would all be prepped and ready for our exit of the slowly producing village. Women and children were watching while we disappeared into the forest. The first three divisions would take the right, since there was a forty five degree bend. By stationing nine warriors on the long side we could evenly cover the inside at a solid ratio of coverage. The other two would cover the inside of the bend. It would take about fifteen minutes of flight for me to get there. In my mind, I was prepping the presentation that I was about to perform.

PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyThu Sep 16, 2010 4:45 pm

A few breaths into the flight, I slowed down to give the soldiers time to move into position. Off in the distance, I could make out a dust cloud. Thinking about it, it was probably them. I wondered if they had any idea who or what I was. The simple fact to me that a human would be so arrogant to think that he could take what was mine, using just brute force, was beyond me. I would be able to take care of this without a problem on my own, but I wanted them to fight for it. If they did it on their own, and defended their own land, it would instill a sense of ownership in their own land. It would make them feel like it was theirs, and that they were taking care of their property. The other side of it was communication and team work. Each division had been given two spears to as throw able items. There was a series of steps in combat that I had been taught while in the other world. These were : Assess the enemy, Design a plan, Execute plan, and Clean up. The Execution part had sub plans, which started with range to range, range to close, close to close. Thankfully, it didn’t look like they brought any ranged combat, so our men could use their ranged attacks against the soldiers first. Lowering to a light hover above the tree line, I started to make out their numbers.

PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyThu Sep 16, 2010 5:00 pm

The slaver, along with a cart, fourteen soldiers in medium armor, and two soldiers on horseback. Interesting numbers. They all seemed moderately armed, and I was rather happy at the thought of that. I would not forgive someone who not only traded slaves for profit, but who came to say that I was a liar, and attempt to forcefully seize my workers. Slowly, I would descend before flickering from sight. My image would reappear in the center of the dirt path, with both hands in my pockets. Watching them come into sight, they would slowly come from the trees and around the bend as expected. On sight, they would come to a halt while several of the soldiers move to the front. The slaver, sitting atop a broad tan horse, came up with a light laugh. His fat gut hung from his shirt, spilling out across an ornamental hilt. Just his presence gave me a sense of disgust, and I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, this man would burn into the depths of hell today. His empty words of how I cheated him, though he set the prices, spilled out, as if I was listening. The soldiers began to move forward, while I casually stood there. Stomping one foot, the count would begin for the soldiers. Ten seconds was their limit, with fifteen before they began their strike. I hoped, with every bit of me that they were covering their ears as tight as possible.

A light spark of energy coursed through my lungs, while I held my breath. It was a beautiful feeling, to be able to hold that much power simply inside my chest. Dirt would move from beneath me, while my left foot slid outwards. Dropping my jaw, a bone would pop at the grinding, while a low rumble erupted from my lips. Within a second, that low rumble would turn into an eruption of thunder. The large boom would shift across their entire caravan. The horses would fall from their feet, while the riders were thrown to the ground. Those standing would stumble to the sides, falling to their knees. The thunder, a roar of thunder to be exact, would have stricken their orientation. There wasn’t a single person in my sight who was standing on their feet. From that, I would close my mouth tightly, and finish count in my head. There was nearly three seconds left, and they would travel by rather quickly. I smiled as soon as the spears came into sight. Ten spears in all, each at a specific target. Two would miss, while eight struck their targets as intended. Not only were they being attacked, but they couldn’t even get their bearings straight to even attempt to stand. The warriors of Artilia would emerge from the foliage, swords drawn, before charging straight into the soldiers. It was a quick dispatch, with most of them unable to defend themselves. I merely stood there, smiling at the event.

Iron would strike armor, taking the soldiers into their demise. The only thing that was left to deal with now was the slave driver. Unfortunately, my soldiers would get to him before I could. His body, still disoriented, would be thrown to the ground in front of me. I would simply stand there, with my hands remaining in their pockets. It seemed, that without me even lifting a finger, my soldiers were able to take down everything, as expected and organized. It would have been an extreme failure for them had they failed me here. The dishonor would have resulted in a public execution for the person charged. Thankfully, it all had gone well and according to the protocol that I had initially setup. The slave driver would look up in fear while apologizing for his lack of ability and judgment. I wasn’t about to kill him, since I might need him again one day. This would bring me to explaining the situation. For his incompetence, and the fact that I was allowing him to walk away without even so much as touching him, he would have over the ten slaves he was currently carrying. Whimpering, he tossed a set of keys over to my feet. One of the warriors would pick it up with a smile before running behind the caravan to unload the slaves we had just freed. Cheers from them would cross the area while they ran to behind me and the warriors. “Get on your horse, and leave. It was a pleasure to do business with you.”

The man looked down at me, as if he were severely insulted. He should be glad that I was actually letting him walk away from here in one piece. It would not have been out of my rights to let him leave with just one arm, and tied to a horse. Thankfully, I was in a good mood and would allow him the mercy that I had shown my enemies before. There was no doubt in my mind that he would be back, and if he did, he would probably bring more slaves with him. While I watched him carefully until he disappeared in the distance, the soldiers would begin their celebration. “Loot the bodies, take the armor and weapons”. They bowed their heads before going straight to work. Turning to the freed slaves, I extended my arms out a bit before returning my hands to my pockets. “you have been freed from your bondage. Serve me, and become a part of our society. Through service, you will earn the freedom that has been given to you. You will be given a home, and your families can be relocated out here to start a new life. What say you!?” Cheers came from the ten men and women. They were an important part of what was going on here. Slowly, I was building my people, and I was rather happy about that. There would be nothing to stop us once we hit a certain point of our forward evolution. It was exponential.

“Soldiers of Artilia, escort them back, carefully.” There were nods from the five division leaders. The new workers would stand there in awe while my body quickly lifted from the dirt, bringing a cloud of dust up. Once in the air, I would raise in height to a point where I could monitor the roads behind them. There was a light dust cloud in the distance. I was happy that he was on his way out and without giving us trouble. Below, the four horses would be mounted and ridden off towards the village. Satisfaction would bring a rumble to my stomach. It was nearly mid morning, and the village would be well at work by the time I got back. Turning, my body would fly towards the village at full speed. Even with the time I had given the warriors and new community members, I would still be able to make it back first. Landing in the center square area, the ground had been ripped up and patted down, making a hard dirt floor. The same had begun to happen in several other places, mostly where stones had been setup to mark where houses were going to go. Today, however, the housing projects would move on. They had worked hard, and proven to me that they were more than efficient in building structural objects with precision and speed. Bringing my body to the table, I would sit for a moment while watching workers on top of the two buildings.

They were putting the finishing touches on what looked like the rooftops. The house on the left was going to be the economic center, while the one next to it housed the command center. That was, for now. Inside that command center, meetings would be held to discuss the design and construction of the village. We still had a lot to do here, and with the amount of carpenters we had now, I could probably get up a house or two every other day. I would say, two houses per three days if I wanted to stay conservative at all. Other than that, I might have to expand quickly to defense of the village as well. The forest would give us a natural defense, but that wasn’t good enough. I wanted to draw a series of wooden walls straight through it, along with getting a harbor constructed. Getting up, my body would move towards the water, where a single woman was fishing on the rocks. Floating over, I would sit down beside her, startling her. An apology would come from me while I asked her where she learned to fish. It was a rather interesting answer about her family and it being their occupation. Without waiting too much, an idea came into my head. It was a simple one that would give this lovely girl something to do. “so.. you know water, and fishing. How would you like to be the harbor master, and design the harbor layout for me?”

She looked at me rather oddly, wondering if I was actually asking her to do this. A light smile would cross the young woman’s face. I bet she was treated like a female slave back in the other village. Here ,things would be different. I would educate children and women, and give them all the same opportunity. I would not discriminate against them for anything because of their gender or age. She nodded an acceptance to me, while a few tears rolled across her lightly tanned skin. Standing, I would pat her on the shoulder before flying back towards the village. Upon getting back to the center, the warriors would be in view. Calling them over, they joined me for a seat at the large table. “Good work today, but it isn’t over. We need to have a way to defend ourselves, and that will require defensive barriers and placements. Our current priority is the village, which gives you all an easy job. Instead of putting you to work here, I want you on a rotating patrol of the area. Make your own paths, and figure out a way to set up a defensive wall. Once we have the resources, we will begin a wooden wall at a wide range, and a stone wall around our own immediate area. Any questions?” Nothing was said, which gave me a good feeling about them today. It was great to see such work from all of them, and they even understood the first time.

Work..that was going to be a huge pain for me. I had little income coming in, so that would mean that the merchants were even more important right now. I needed to get not only more resources in, but also work on spreading them to other great cities. With a shotgun method, we could spread resources to other cities, and bring attention to our small village. Secretly, we would advertise this place as a Mecca of freedom. From oppression in their homes, to oppression in other governments, I would offer a safe haven from all of those places. This place would grow exponentially once we started gaining momentum forward. Looking at the women around the area, I knew I would be unable to take them from their jobs. There were men who were doing support activities for them, like assisting them with remedial tasks. Shaking my head, I would call all of them over. “congratulations, you have all been appointed to a new occupation. We need merchants to trade and bring in goods. Use the goods the women are selling, and open trade routes across the water, and down to Tara Mura.” They would nod in agreement, and be slightly more relieved that they were now being considered a useful part of my society. It would not take long for a constant revenue to begin moving into the village. Turning, I watched a door being carried over, made of wooden planks that were bonded together. How, I don’t know.

The enjoyment that I saw right now, was that the treasury house was completed. Cavor was looking at it in satisfaction before the door opened, and he walked in. Standing, I would move over to the finished house, the first finished building of our village. There were cries of celebration at the success of how quick this thing came up. Walking inside, there was a wooden floor, with three rooms. The center room had men moving and setting up a table. The treasury director would move the table over to a wall, while a wooden door from the ship was brought over and placed on the front area behind me. He would sit down at the table with a big smile on his face. “This is your domain. From here, you will manage all of the finances for the entire village. Over time, and as we grow, you will get assistants, and a new building. “ Between the two buildings, a covered pathway was being constructed. Stepping out the side door, I would get to see an entrance to the command center that was on the side. I was now extremely happy that they were thinking ahead, and connecting the buildings. This would allow a light compound setup at the core of the village, and give us a defensive stance from the beginning. Turning to face the sun, I would stand between the two completed buildings, and watch the sun slowly come into its midday area. It was going to be a good day.

Watching the sun made me smile, and the warmth it gave me was something I rarely ever had. A carpenter would come up from behind me, getting my attention. Another boat had arrived off shore apparently, and I was needed. Moving towards the center of the village, several of the warriors would join me in the short walk to the beach. A large ship was off shore, but it didn’t seem to have any weapons on it. Lifting off, my body would tear through the air before landing on the side of the ships main deck. The crew scattered when I announced myself as the governing body of this area. Slowly, a captain emerged from his quarters with a giant laugh to calm his men. “Good day, we are traders who come with supplies. We have heard that a new village was popping up, so we came to trade!” Looking at him curiously, I asked him what kind of supplies he had. After returning his own answer, of simply wood and a little bit of food, I thanked the heavens that he was here. “How much wood do you have?” He laughed again, while his crew opened the deck sheet. In the center of the cargo hold were stacks and stacks of wood. “Give me a few moments to head to my village, and I will return within a few minutes.” I had to get to the treasury, and then bring men to get the wood over here.

With a light step to the side of the boat, I would lift off into the air at full speed, making the trip to shore in a few seconds. Sliding to a stop in the dirt, I would announce the others to follow me, and right now. Quickly, I would head for the treasury building, which was now completed. The door would swing open, while I came into Cavor’s office. “One thousand shinny”. Instead of asking what it was for, he opened his lock box, and tossed me a small bag. That should be more than enough for two hundred pieces of wood. With that much wood, we should have enough for two more houses. Smiling, I would step out of the treasury department while the others waited. “Bring the boats, we will be unloading a decent amount of wood, enough to expand nicely for a couple of days.” Nodding, they all split up to head to their small boats. It would take a few trips from the large one back here before all the wood would be stored. With a smile, I would fly back over to the ship to deliver the goods. I wondered how much wood it would take to build a ship. Oh well. That was not the problem I had right now, a lack of resources was. Landing, I tossed the bag of gold over to the captain, who opened and counted it. “very good ,very good. “ he said with a great big smile.

The wood was already being lifted up to the main deck, and placed in small boats. It seemed like he was willing to even move it all over here for me. With gracious acceptance and appreciation, I honored his dignity as a trader, and requested that he make these trips up here as often as he could If he had wood that I could buy, I would do so. There was no reason for me to not want more wood, especially if I could protect the woods that surrounded us. That natural barrier would make it easy to lay traps, hunt, and keep any enemy at bay. When my boats arrived, they would be loaded up with the remaining portion of wood before all of them set off towards the shore. Turning, I would shake the captains hand with a smile. “to the continued partnership between your company, and my village” With a large laugh, he would return the acknowledgement with his own words. Today was going to be a beautiful day after all. Drawing a hand through my hair, I would lift off the boats deck while the anchor was being raised. The sails dropped, and I moved back towards the village. Landing, there were many discussions going on between those who had assisted me over there. “Store the wood, we have a lot more work to do! Tomorrow, we begin on your homes, and we will not rest until every family has their own sanctuary.”

Diaries of a mad spirit Empty
PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptyFri Sep 17, 2010 1:43 pm

I closed my eyes, after slowly watching the sun reach its middle ground. Deep progress had been made today, and now we had an entirely new shipment of wood. I had a fond memory of this time. I had been here, long ago. There were demons infiltrating this world, and it was my first time in this realm. Drifting into a nap, I would revisit those memories that had been locked deep within my mind. ... It had been six months. Six months since Orain had died. Six months since the other spirit known as Raythin had discarded his former identity to take on the mantle of Marcus Arshin. His hair had already begun to grow out and he had long since lost the will to ever smile again. he had lost everything. The vice admiral was gone. Terin was gone; dead by the spirits own hands. And Orain was dead. One more nail in the coffin of that dead identity. Cagliastro and Lorenza had stayed with him loyally and had worked to start molding him into the warrior nobility he now posed as. To serve that purpose they had bought him a new coat in a rich shade of green. A fine coat to suit who he now was. The moment they left the room he tossed the accursed thing out the window into the muddy streets. Green wasn't his color, but blue didn't suit him either. Everything that had blue in it reminded him of the spirit world, and tended to bring a light blue shade across his skin.

He still had the pocket icon he had taken from Orain. The warrior was a worth foe, and had been dispatched under the impending nightfall. He would never throw that away. It counted every second of the past six months steadily, and he'd often listen to the steady sound as he looked out the window. But often he would close his eyes in defiance of the bright days and pull the curtains closed.
Six months had passed, but for the spirit who had tossed away his own identity to survive in this world, time might as well have stopped. There were things, strange things, rituals, and a structure of life that had never been taught in the other world. The infiltration had been successful to a point. An evil spirit had come to rule, and had been dispatched by his own hands. It was the first time that humans had stood in the way, tricked by his evil words. Seven humans had lost their lives that day, while two others had joined the young lightning wielder. These were the days when life lessons were created every day. With no political training or human relations, every day posed new challenged, challenges that a spirit of only ninety years was not going to be prepared for.

Slowly, my eyes would open. I had rather distasteful memories of those days. It was something about not being able to do what I wanted, and having to listen to two older spirits. I had really learned all I cared to at that point of the human world, and would not return until two hundred years later.

PostSubject: Re: Diaries of a mad spirit   Diaries of a mad spirit EmptySat Sep 18, 2010 12:27 pm

With a light yawn, my afternoon nap would be completed. I had to get back to work now, and make sure that the other parts of the village were getting the attention that they needed. Rolling from the little hammock I had strung up on the large ship’s bow, my feet would never hit the ground before I flew off towards the village. As always, the flight seemed to be getting shorter and shorter now that there were buildings and stuff. Landing in the normal area as always, I would notice that there was no one working on the command center. After that, and a realization that there wasn’t anyone from the council out here, I moved over to find that the building had been completed. Satisfied, I turned again, and lifted up into the air. There were villagers over assisting with another building. It had already started coming up, the frame was there, the foundation solid and firm and people were crawling up onto the frameworks roof to start covering it. These humans had a lot of energy, and it was great to see them working hard without me telling them what to do. I didn’t have to worry about them, nor did I have to delegate and babysit them. They were doing what they needed to as a society, and each person was carrying their own weight so far. Stepping into the command center, I would move into a large open room where there was a single round table. Four people sat there, while I took a seat at my chair on the back side. Time to get some business going.
