Adrian lay on his bed, his body rolled onto it's side. He breathed slowly as he lay there, fast asleep. At least until he heard a voice in the back of his head. He grumbled as he opened his eyes. He rolled until he was on his back, frowning as he stared at the ceiling of his apartment.
Come boy...
He sat up lightly, glancing around the dark bedroom of his apartment before he stood. His eyes narrowed as he tossed the sheets away from him. He wore a simple pair of sweat pants as he padded across the room, moving to his dresser. He pulled a t-shirt on and entered the livingroom of his apartment.
"Hello?"
The roof. Come to the roof.
The roof? He ignored his instincts and grabbed a pair of tennis shoes. Slipping them on he wandered out of the apartment and upstairs to the roof. Pushing the door open slowly he frowned, glancing around at the open area.
"Hello?" he asked, quirking an eyebrow.
Are you ready to learn your next lesson?
"I guess. What are we going to be doing?" he asked.
No need to worry darling... I'll teach you everything.
He glanced around, frowning as he quirked an eyebrow. Looking for the source of the voice. He furrowed his brow in confusion as he blinked lightly.
"Where are you?" he asked
"Behind you." came a woman's voice. "It's time to learn a few things you'll need to know about this deal you made. You are our servant. You do what we say, when we say it. You kill the targets we assign and you do it without questioning the orders."
He turned to face her as she spoke, shocked, but not enough to scream. He watched her walk around him as if she were inspecting a soldier.
"Not much to look at but you'll do. You'll get stronger with training." she said, tapping her chin lightly.
"Think whatever you want but I don't intend to be mocked." he said, summoning the Devil's Teardrop from it's pocket dimension.
He felt the reassuring weight in his hand, gripping it tightly as he watched her. It was handy having a weapon he could summon forth at will, but if he wasn't careful he might get hurt. He wasn't sure what this demon was capable of, let alone what might also be around.
"Oh come on. You don't honestly think I'm here alone do you?" she asked.
"Maybe. But I don't know you well enough to judge. So it's either one of three things. Either you're alone, and so powerful you don't need help. You're here with reinforcements. Or you're here all by yourself, weak, and just don't want anyone to notice you here. So which is it?" he asked.
"You didn't really think that would work did you? You're a pretty stupid person from the looks of it."
"Or am I smart enough to make you underestimate me?"
"Ah. Good one. I guess I can admit I underestimated you already. But you can't beat me boy. So put the sword down. I have your first target." she said, holding out a sheet of paper with a name and address on it. "Take your time, and be sure to take it slow. He lives in East City. Get it taken care of and you'll be rewarded."
Taking the sheet, he looked it over before he nodded and walked away. He'd have to do recon, and make sure that there were no dangers to the assassination. The name was unfamiliar but he knew the address. It was a church of some sort, he'd never bothered to ever go in or investigate it so he'd have to do it now.
