Departure

Mei usually kept herself stocked on milk. It wouldn't be cosmetically favorable to carry around a bunch of milk cartons so in a bag she just had two full sized ones. There was some other food of her preference in there but none of which she visually was eating. It was peculiar that she was in Moonbucks but was eating her own stuff instead of making any transactions; essentially loitering but she was only here for around five minutes anyways. Her car was not parked since she suspected that she may be gone for a while, making it depressingly useful that she lived alone. There are no abnormalities about her. Scantily notable is an eyepatch, and how her one visible eye appears somewhat typical. Something of white fabric is coiled around her waist, but is partially hidden by a cloth sheath. Horizontally on her back was a large case. She takes another gulp of the milk and continues to await whomever.

It's been a while since that day at the Veneza ruins. She sat in front of her mirror and stared at herself and brushed her hair softly and gazing with a empty gaze as if she was remembering something. Possibly it was the look on Mei's face, it reminded her of how much Jyn hated spirits and how it made her doubt her own humanity because that she was warped so much. Though she was able to hide the appearance, it was still there. It wasn't like it was permanently gone, it was always there festering within her. She even felt something more occurring to her the more she used her abilities, like it was tainting her very essence. She just wasn't sure what. Those were the thoughts that passed her mind as she got herself ready. She wondered if she would see Mei today, it probably seemed like a nice time to head to the past. Though she didn't have to worry about being missing for so long, since she can always just teleport back and forth with just about no problem.

Here she was arriving at Moonbucks though she arrived there about six minutes after Mei was there. Izumi was planning to get some coffee, though when she had arrived closed to the building she had sensed the girls spiritual signature to which Izumi continued onward inside of Moonbucks.

Unfortunately Mei's prowess lacked the ability to spiritually identify Izumi's signature to that much of a degree. Though she does appear to acknowledge that there was an approaching presence that had power identical to how much Izumi had. This rises her suspicion that her friend may be there already. Lady Luck seemed to have aided her on this day. Though she would remain seated and hurried little as her attention notably loomed upon the door. Her senses were suspect of being crude and perhaps today she would see if they were viable to be called 'keen' instead. She raises the milk carton to her lips once again. It seemed more or less set in stone at this point that Mei herself did not intend on buying anything available at Moonbucks.

She felt eyes prey upon her the moment she enters the door. She stopped for a second and looked around sorting the different signals within the room separating each human that was there until she found Mei's signature. Though it seems that this time yet again it was a bit more different from before. She gazed to the girl and took in her appearance for a second and blinked as it took her a moment to fully absorb it as she waved to the girl and then made some hand motions essentially stating that she was going to get something to drink before she would walk up to the girl. To which she would go and order something, French vanilla, and then once she received her cup she would walk over to the girl. "Hello there"

Her one eyed attention keeps upon Izumi, though stops once she indicates that she'd be making some sort of transaction. A nod would confirm Mei's understanding. She herself had grown tired of drinking milk and insisted on twisting the cap back on and depositing it into a bag. Her feline eye would greet Izumi upon her opening statement. “I suppose fate has done us well today.” Bending her wrist down at an arc she would run her tongue along the top of it. This would be done multiple times, much like a cat's idiosyncrasies. Her hand lowers and is placed idly upon her leg. Her eye catches light with relative ease and this can be noted visually. Though she would note speak about such. “Are our intentions the same as they were but weeks ago?” She questions.

Something did change about her, but Izumi wasn't going to ask about it. Some differences were there from the last time she has seen the girl. She came and situated herself across from the girl and smiled hearing her and nodded her head. "If you're still set upon it we can leave anytime you'd like to." she stated before taking a sip of her coffee. "Though there is probably something you should understand about it before we do head on there. How much do you understand about time travel?" finishing what she was saying with a question as she felt the warm hot yummy coffee settling in her tummy.

Mei looks towards Izumi with bewilderment. “Well I can't necessarily say I've ventured through time before.” That certainly was not a lie. The concept of time travel alone to her was farfetched. There were resources in fiction books that usually said that if one thing in the past is messed up than the future would be altered. Of course she was oblivious to this 'past's' mechanics. She was also apathetic to the taboo notons anyway. “Are there consequences such as stepping on a stick meaning something in the present could be altered, like a newspaper editorial?” Mei asks, her attention settling on the beverage the girl was currently consuming.

"Not necessarily, How can I explain this without confusing myself." she stated, talking about time traveling can be very confusing without having to write it down or draw it out of something, at least to her being that there was so many theories and such as to how it works, what could work and what could it affect and so on. "We would essentially be going into the past, but the future of that past is not our present." Izumi rose her eyes up a little confused wondering if she stated that right. "Per say it's like we have a point A and a point B, Point B is our time and point A is our past. We will be heading back to point A, but point A's time doesn't lead to point B, it would lead to point C, which is so to say a alternate dimension compared to ours." Izumi looked to Mei wondering if she understood. "I hope its a bit understandable."

Mei seems to hold a straight face and a smile for the entire duration. This makes it in question whether or not she understood. A few moments past after Izumi's explanation. Her hands were crossed before her like a good student would in elementary school. She doesn't waver and she just eccentrically continues to loom her broad attention towards the female in front of her. “I'm afraid not, my dear.” Cheerful sarcasm is slapped onto her wording as she slumps her posture and retreats to non-creepiness and regularity. It was more or less as though she'd just hit her over the skull with a brick with the paradox that was just stated. “So what you're saying is that we're in Point B and if we got to Point A it's not our point A and therefore is a point C and you're implying that there's a point D that essentially would be their future.” She yanks on her own hair, shutting her eyes tightly. “Why must I be cursed by these malicious paradoxes?”

Izumi held a nervous look upon her face as she sighed figuring that this wasn't going to be easy. Even what Mei stated had confused her. Though it wasn't necessarily important to really know this. She had to think hard about it because though it was confuse both comments were truthful in their own perspectives. "That's another way of putting it. But I guess just the easiest way to put this is we're traveling to a alternate dimension that matches our own in every way except they have a different future. Other than that, it's exactly the same as our own past." So there really wouldn't be any worry about any butterfly effects. Izumi gave a weak smile. Time travel was always the hardest thing to ever converse about as there was really no definite way of explaining it properly without any sort of confusion popping up or someone's mind being rattled so hard trying to merely understand it.

A nod is her general response. “Theoretically it would be a legit concept to be able to go to the future of the alternate realm's past. From point C to D, and see where our trekking truly leaves its mark. What would have happened to our own if that past was truly ours.” Her lips would curl into a smirk as she gradually attains a better understanding on the topic. Hypothetically it was reasonable to say that there were a variety of points, referring to more than one alternate verse. “As interesting as this is, my head is beginning to writhe with ache. We should make our way to our designation.” She would say, standing up. “We should probably depart outside in a place more discreet, unless you have any other plans.”

Izumi only inwardly laughed to herself in her mind. Never my favorite subject to speak about, to confusing and one misunderstanding lands you in a world of confusion Seeing that Mei had enough and looked ready to go as she stood up. Izumi nodded her head as she took more sips of her drink. "Very well, we can go at anytime you'd like." Izumi would smiled as she uttered. "We can head into a near by alley and leave from there."

Mei nods in response. “Right.” Momentarily she configures with some things until she's ready. She exhibits her bag over her shoulder and make sure that most things were intact. If Izumi was observant she'd probably catch small glimpse as the revolver and handgun apparent at her sides; they were promptly covered by a variety of material and clothing. The other people, however, would not be able to see anything since they were not being prudently spectated. “I do find it moderately amusing that every time I see you I've acquired some sort of additional mutation.” Mei blatantly says, standing up. “Don't be startled once it becomes apparent. Let's go.”

Izumi watched the girl taking in more of her since she was much closer now and had a chance to really just take in the girls outfit, what she had on her, considering what could be seen that is, and she watched with care. A smile glisten her lips as she took another sip. The comment seemed a bit odd and Izumi tilted her head, it made her ponder if Izumi was at fault at all for any of the girl's mutation? Did she radiate a spiritual wave of energy that brought about a mutation within the human bodies of those within the area? No that is silly, is it? Izumi held a concerned look for a second as she glanced off to the side and then just shook her head throwing away that silly over analytical thought away as she too stood up. "Alright, let's go." Izumi would take the lead as she would. "You may enjoy the past..." Possibly being the huge reason that "...there isn't all that much spiritual activity. You'd find a spirit per say like once a blue moon during that time."

Mei's head slowly tilts to the side. She seems confused about Izumi's statement. “Why is that?” She questions as she begins to make her way towards the exit of that place. When she opened the door she, should she be the first to it, she would postpone its closing and hold it open for her violet haired friend. “By no means do they seem to be a rarity.” Commenting she would briefly scan the street. There is no one there that she could see as of yet. Her hands escalate and begin removing something from the top of her head. The 'belt' around her waist uncoils to reveal what appeared to be a white tail. Her ears perk up from her hair after a small delay. There is a sigh but it is hardly audible. Then she seems to gain a little more zest, once she starts speaking again. “Though, are you implying for me to stay there?” She smirks slightly. “As beneficial as that could be... There's someone here that I wish not to...you know, depart from... permanently.” Her voice trails off; she would seem to be looking skyward with her lips contorted awkwardly and her cheeks lightly governed by a blush.

It was a large difference between back then and now. It would be no surprise for such a person at Mei to not believe that spirits are a rarity in the past. Of course there are spirits, just it's not such a numerous amount compared to how it is now. Spirits hunters do their job much better back then, than they do now. Izumi took another sip, Mei reached the door first. This girl seemed to excited, well why wouldn't she? Who would want to see the past, it's like a whole other world. Seeing her holding the door open and noticing her little 'mutations' caused a blink to come from Izumi as she ended up burning her tongue. "ow hot..." she looked towards the tip of her tongue and frowned slightly at the burnt tongue, though it's effect went both ways as pain and pleasure, being that the heat did make her feel at ease, due to park of her snakish ways because of her gorgyn soul line. Her tongue receded back into her mouth as she watched this feline human. "No, I wasn't implying that, we don't belong in that time. I was merely stating that you may like it. Though you won't come across spirits like you would here, you will come across the wild animals there, which are possibly more dangerous than the spirits of now." Oh yes and the third source of energy seems to be quite the abundance in that time as well, but it doesn't pop up quite as often, those animals keep to their realm. Mei had someone in this realm, that was great and caused a pleased smile to come upon her face. "If you ever need to return at anytime at all, we can so you don't have to worry about not being able to come back quickly." Izumi walked passed Mei. "Thank you" she thanked her for holding the door open and she would lead the girl to a near by alleyway, walking calm and nonchalant like this was a normal thing, not even bothering to glance about to see if people were there or not.

It was a good thing that there weren't many people by. As nonchalant as they were walking it sure would look peculiar to be walking into an erratically placed alleyway with a girl who had both a tail and a set of feline ears. Mei seemed ironically to be a bit more at ease when so many people would not be at ease to have extra feats visible. That insistent scotch tape! The way her tail tended to stiffen when coiled around her waist for too long. She'd stretch her arms upwards to relieve her body of the accumulated stress. Mei yawns before looking upon the dead end ahead of them. “Do you have someone, Izumi?” While the topic in general was fresh she figured she might as well ask that. Her tail tilts curiously, swishing around before stabilizing within moments.

A blush dashed her face and heat felt like it crossed through her throat and to her chest at the mere thought as she held a soft gaze to the side as she seemed shy. "Yes, I do hold someone dear to me." She stated with pure gentleness in her voice as she lead the girl near the end of the alleyway and she looked to her. "I've been with him for a long time now." She stated as she gazed down to her cup. "he was the one who saved my life a long time ago." It was still quite the amazing thing that she had fallen off that building that time so long ago and just fell into his arms, or he caught her, she wasn't really sure. She didn't know it was completely pure coincidence that she landed in his arms.

Mei nervously chuckles. “How romantic. I guess we're alike, then.” Her own cheeks would still stubbornly be reigned by a dark blush. Her attention seems to be downward to perhaps hide such an expression and her embarrassment. Her ears droop notably and her tail would wrap around her torso inadvertently. This gesture with the tail usually signified when a feline was meek. “You see, I'd be dead if it wasn't for him; he's my lifeline, even presently.” Her words weren't firm as they usually were and seemed a lot more soft. “Something happened, as well. We can feel through one another's senses to a literal degree. Though, I haven't seen him for a while, which is melancholic.” Her attention seems to be to her side now, her irises edging to their border. Again she would configure her eyepatch so her one wolf eye was apparent, and one feline one. “If he wanted to, he could hear me at this moment. Wouldn't that be convenient if he did intend on tuning in, because then he'd know for sure without him there would be little initiative for me to breathe. ...Or something like that, as I've forgotten to tell him.”

Looking to the girl, yeah it was love in the girls eyes and it made her shimmer like the stars and glow like the full moon. What a sight to behold when looking at a woman in love. Their beauty seems to just multiply as they look more beautiful than ever. This was just even more of a reason to have to come back, not merely just for one's self but for the love of another. It was the perfect motivation as love made a person do such crazy things. Taking another sip Izumi then spoke. "Than you know what you have to do when you get back." Soon after that she whistled as she looked to the top of the dead end wall. "Rhapsody come here sweety." There would be a short silence, but soon afterwards this growling sound could be heard before something jumped over the tall wall and landed near Izumi. Quite a large creature, though it moved upon four legs and was quite close to the ground, it's length fro head to tail was like that of a pre-teen. Though it was essential a Giant Chinese Salamander, while thats what it appearance was, it's actual species was the mystic animal Chinese Dragon. Izumi while kneel toward's her dear pet and placed a hand upon it's head as the creature would move it's head into Izumi's hand, it's beady eyes gazing at Izumi. "Say hello to Rhapsody. She's coming along with us." Izumi would smile in a pleased manner as she looked towards the woman who had two different eyes, one of the wolf and the other of a feline. Quite interesting indeed.

Rhapsody? With all of the talk about relationships Mei was wary of the presence of a male walking into the alleyway. Her eyes narrowed slightly, prudently, as she looked at what had approached. What the fuck? That definitely was not something Mei had seen in her life before but once actually looking at it she began to see it as not hostile. Good. That would have been bad because she didn't know how to deal with giant salamanders. How weird was this city, anyway? God. She had never dreamt of the day where she would befriend half demons, encounter summoners and giant salamanders. Visually Mei guessed it was cute in its own sort of way, that was how she felt. Of course she wouldn't admit that. Once asked to greet the creature she would be receptive to some degree. She knelt down adjacent to Izumi and looked at Rhapsody a bit more. “Hi there.” She'd say, though seemed a bit confused. Her hand extends forth but she hesitates. “Um...Can I pet it?”

Izumi would just giggle noticing how hesitant Mei was, at least she didn't do like Seiki and attempted to kill her pet without finding out the situation at first. That idiot sometimes did things without thinking, but he held good intentions, but Rhapsody didn't like being attacked like that and still had Seiki on his list of bad guys. Izumi nodded her head to Mei. "Sure you can pet her." she didn't like calling Rhapsody an it, mainly because even Rhapsody has a gender, Izumi looked at Rhapsody and stated. "Say Hello to Auntie Mei, Rhapsody." she used Auntie and Uncles as identifiers for who were good people in Izumi's book and it was something Rhapsody identified when Izumi stated. Rhapsody took a moment though and looked to Izumi and then to Mei, it's large thick tail shifted and slide from left to right as though it were wagging and she got a bit excited and licked Mei's hand. Izumi could only laugh. Of course Izumi opened her senses out to make sure anyone in the area that could be behind them or anything wouldn't attempt at anything.

Mei's eyes broaden a little as she is caught off guard by the sudden lick. “Ooh. Her mannerisms are very, um, abrupt.” Her hand would proceed forth and its placement shifts to being upon its head should it enable her to do so. If the sensation was anything like her own feline ears being pet than through her own experiments she'd know how it felt. Now for anyone to be audacious enough to try that on her, hah! Her lips curl into a smirk as she rises to a standing position once again. A one shoulder shrug motions the strap closer in proximity to her neck, to assure it wouldn't slip off. “I too bestow a companion in possession, though it isn't what you'd call a 'pet'. It slumbers within my bag and probably will not be with is presently until it awakens. Apologies.” Beginning to walk once again, vainly she would flick her hand through her hair. “Excuse my audacity, but perhaps now would be a good time to open the rift?”

Izumi giggled softly as she watched Mei react to Rhapsody's lick and then pet the creature. It was a cute sight for Izumi to see Rhapsody get along with people she knew. Though she knew she couldn't let just anyone meet Rhapsody due to how people reacted to certain things. Mei has a similar friend, though it wasn't a pet like Rhapsody? Izumi looked to Rhapsody and blinked. Rhapsody was pleased with the petting and this rumble went through it's body, though no noise, just a rumbling feeling like it was 'purring' rumbled through her body. Mei soon after brought her attention to opening the portal. Izumi blinked and nodded looking a little concerned. "Very well." she stated as she looked off to the side and suddenly a portal opened up, using a different means of activating her spell. "Theres the portal, it's opened. I made three of them, three for the purpose of going through one and letting that one close and the other two being a connecting portal between then and now. The other portal is created in a safe spot within the city where you won't be seen if you ever have to come back. The other portal will open up just to the south of Veneza. The walk there shouldn't be all that far now. so after you." A smile grew on her lips.

“Right.” Mei says with a nod. She was not caught off guard like last time from the appearance of the portal since was relatively familiar of magic of this magic by now. The frame of her eyes elongates from squinting at the vibrant, achromatic light that would flood the approximate area around the portal. Several steps are taken forth and the light around her makes her appear like a silhouette as she walks towards it. “Thanks, again.” A brief glance is tossed rearwards. A minor rarity, a faint smile, is apparent on her lips. Turning around once again her finalizing steps are taken into the portal. The silhouette of her frame diminishes as more and more light becomes potent around her, causing her to diminish completely from sight. Then, Mei, and the slumbering rodent in her bag, would be gone from the area. Localizing her would only be plausible if pursuing her through the portal.
