"WE ARE HARD TOUGH RUTHLESS KNIGHTS! ROUGH, RAW, READY TO FIGHT! HIT THE FLOOR, HARD TO THE CORE, REPRESENT THREE TWO FOUR! HOOAH KNIGHTS, HOOAH KNIGHTS, HOOAH KNIGHTS!" the group shouted as they stood there announcing their presence.
I stood there, in my fatigues, my sniper rifle slung over my shoulder as I stood there, waiting patiently for the sarge to begin his speech. We all knew this was coming. This was our final evaluation. We each had thirty shots. with different colors per person. We were about to be turned loose on one another. We all knew what would happen with this last test. Apparently whoever decided to put us all together took a sick pleasure in watching us turn on one another. We stood there listening to the sarge going on about the final test for the graduation exam. Everything up until this point didn't matter. First one shot, last one in the class.
Last man standing. It was a battle royale and we weren't the only ones doing it. There were thirty of us. Ten people in each squad. Knights, Wraiths, and Shades. There were ten of us in each squad. In the end we were going to find ourselves out alone in a war zone. And we knew full well what was going to happen. This was not only a test of our abilities alone, but to work as a team. We'd known each other long enough to know that this would be how it was. Nobody would know full well if the other teams had been taken out without radio contact.
Standing there my eyes close as we're ordered out. As we arrive at the main square where the other two teams of ten are, we look around, taking in the area briefly. The other two teams had probably already had a chance to scout the area. It was made to look like a city. I frown as I look around slowly, my eyes scanning the buildings before the signal is given. We all have twenty minutes to find a place and settle in. The area is two square city blocks. A large area for thirty snipers unless you weren't careful. If you knew where to go you were safe. This was a waiting game. It didn't end until you were shot. Once shot you were pulled off the field. and the sensors you were wearing made sure of it. Once impact was detected in one concentrated area, your gun was locked remotely. It was modern warfare completely.
As they ran I shrugged and walked away, moving toward a fallen wall. No breaks to eat. If you ate you ran the risk of missing someone, or where killed because of it. It was complete warfare. In the end there was only so much that we would be able to deal with. As the last few minutes ticked away I checked the time with my cyber brain as I waited patiently. I had an unfair advantage. I could find them using my abilities. I could find them before they knew where I was. I could calculate the target range, and take them out.
